FGCU Fall 2015

Published

Hello everyone ! I'm new to all nurses. I haven't seen a thread posted yet for FGCU fall 2015 so I thought I'd start one even though we still have a while until applications are due (Feb 1st). My stats are as follows: GPA 3.6, adjusted Teas 85, program percentile 90. I hear they recalculate your GPA for the nursing program so I think that my GPA may be a lot lower than that since I've retaken a few classes. I'm considering retaking the Teas to make myself a more competitive candidate just in case my GPA turns out to be a lot lower. How many of you are thinking of applying ? If so what are your stats ?

I figured it posted that for everyone, but the wording got me excited, either way :)

So, I noticed today that my fall 2014 courses (Microbiology, A&P 2, and Human Nutrition) weren't posted to my account. I had the transcripts sent back in December and January. Not sure what happened, but I called today and spoke to three people and they finally got them posted to my records. Now, I'm paranoid about everything being delayed or mixed up =/

Does anyone know the date of when we're expecting decisions? Between March 30 - April 13th?

Before deadlines, I noticed some of my grades were missing too, I had to call and they updated them right away when I told them about applying for nursing. If I were you I would call again and make sure that didn't affect your application..just to be on the safe side, although I doubt it would have caused any problems. I think between those dates are right because it said 8-10 weeks from Feb. 1st..although I wish it was sooner because the anticipation is killing me!

I was having the same problem. I was pretty much calling them everyday and kept getting the run around being transferred all over the place and ect. I finally left a message with someone they transferred me to (I have no idea who) and it was finally updated.

I'm thinking anywhere around those dates are right. I've already signed up for orientation (I'm a transfer student) on April 10th. Hoping we find out before then.

My GPA according to Degree Works on Gulfline is a 3.818 now that my fall 2014 classes are in and it's a 3.81 when I look at my academic transcript with all my transferred courses (I guess they round down? I just emailed asking about this).

Does anyone know how many are accepted and how many normally apply or have applied in the past?

Also, does anyone know anything about the GPA being recalculated for the nursing program? I know someone mentioned that earlier in this thread.

It's either 40 or 45 that are accepted

On the website it says GPA used is of ALL course work attempted so if you haven't retaken any classes I'm assuming your GPA should be the same. If you have they also include the grade you got on your first attempt to calculate your GPA so I guess that's were the discrepancy may come in as far as what the GPA is on gulfline and the GPA used for the program.

In case anyone is wondering, there's a section on Gulfline to view your program percentile rank for the TEAS. I just discovered this and I'm at an 85% for the program percentile rank. I was hoping to retake the TEAS before the deadline, but am hoping my score and GPA is high enough.

Has anyone done any research/snooping on the boards as to what the average stats are for acceptance?

Also, does anyone know if the science section or any section of the TEAS holds more weight than the others? I noticed on the FGCU Fall 2014 board people posting scores for individual sections.

4 weeks down... 4-6 weeks to go!!!

The time is surprisingly going by pretty fast...At least for me anyway.

I agree the time is going by fast :)

It looks like last year's applicants were notified around April 9th, so I'm going with the second week of April for an expected answer.

Hello everyone, I was wondering what the application consisted of (essay, listing volunteer work, etc.)?

I am going to be applying soon for spring admission.
