Feb 2017 GN Internships in Dallas

Published

Has anyone applied for a Feb 2017 internship in Dallas and heard anything back? I know Baylor, Presby, UT Southwestern and others recently had their open application window.

I just got an offer from Parkland for ER residency. I said I would share for those who are waiting too. It was sent via-email...no call. So check your email!

I was waiting for a phone call and just now checked my email.

I got an offer from Parkland ER, too!

Awesome...maybe we will cross paths in February! I accepted my offer today and I'm so excited to start my career at Parkland. I hear different things about Parkland but I'm going to go in with an open mind and take advantage of this awesome opportunity!

I accepted my offer at Parkland today too! Congrats to everyone that got in, I'll see ya there. If ya haven't heard back don't give up yet!

Hello everyone!

Congrats to all of you that have been offered/accepted jobs! Super excited for y'all!

Now to the nitty gritty..

Has anyone interviews with UTSW? I have an interview this Tuesday for the Critical Care Track and another Wednesday for the Progressive Care Track. Any tips on what they're looking for? I'd heard their interviews are based heavily on clinical experience, 3-part questions, and panel set up.

Any advice/suggestions would be appreciated!

Hello jeniz93

i had an interview for the Oncology track last week. My interview was a panel consisting of three managers and I thought that it was a pretty informal interview - almost like a friendly conversation. The interview was broken down into two parts - the first part was what I would call the basic interview questions such as why nursing? Why this specialty? Why UTSW? They also asked about leadership roles. The second part was the typical behavioral questions and they had quite a few to ask. I would have some good clinical scenarios to back up situations like difficult patient, angry patient, patient that didn't have a good outcome. Also they love questions so have a few in mind

Good luck to you and everyone else - I hope that helped and everyone gets the job they want :)

Hey jeniz93,

i did the CC interview for UTSW last week. It was everything khyione said. Uhm I felt it was alittle more formal, but maybe that's because of my personality. Small talk isn't my strongest area lol. Overall I felt the interview went well and they were all really nice. I'm praying we all get an offer.

I did ask how many people they were hiring and they said 10-15 for CC depends on the individual floor. I also found out that the people interviewing us aren't the ones actual deciding who to hire. They just score it and write down the answers. But they said to expect a call with in 2 weeks. ( that's like way to long for me lol)

good luck!

Congratulations on the interviews!!! Do you know how many people they are accepting for Progressive Care, or which floors are included in that Track?

Hi guys,

Congrats on getting all the job offers and interviews from UTSW! I never got an email invite or anything and was wondering if anyone has the UTSW recruiter's email address so I can ask them about my application? I just need closure and wanted some feedbacks to see how I'm able to fix any flaws. I have an interview for Parkland on Tuesday for the Neuro ICU/PCU which Im starting to get nervous about. Please let me know if anyone has gone through the interview process with Parkland for the MICU or Neuro ICU/PCU...any information would be greatly appreciated!

@Kld4024

I would just call UTSW HR Department directly. I called them yesterday and found out that I was not selected for an interview. The recruiter stated that they had contacted everyone for interviews and had narrowed down all of their candidates. I'm sure that rejection e-mails will be going out soon; probably after the positions have been filled. Hopefully you get a call, but I know she said that most of the phone calls for interviews had already been made.

@K1203

How did your interview go with THR? Did you accept a job position?

@glowbug - I ended up turning down the interview at THR. It wasn't something I was 100% interested in and I was offered a position at Baylor around the same time that I accepted!

HCA is slowly posting their GN positions for those looking!
