UT Austin Nursing School??
To be honest with you, UT has become really hard to get in for transfer students since they recently changed the admission system. 1. UT doesn't require any admission exam including both external and internal transfer students. 2. UT requires certain number of UT hours and they are counted towards the points for the point system used getting accepted into the upper division nursing program. Some of their pre-req courses are only offered at UT so even if you finished all pre-reqs else where, you'd need to take certain courses at UT again. I don't know if they actually accept external-transfers but I know it's even super competitive for internal transfers. 3. UT does require recommendation letters AND your resume. 4. Fall entrance is far more competitive when it comes to GPA. They pretty much strictly only look at GPA for fall students. Last I heard, fall semester average GPA was around 3.8. However, Spring entrance may look more into your work experience, and who you are as a whole. I hope this helped but I would highly recommend contacting their advisor or attend their information session. Their admission policy has changed since I graduated. Good luck!! Hook 'em!

UWORLD NCLEX-RN Self Assessment
To tell you the truth, I wasn't paying a whole lot of attention on the numbers of the question, but I'm positive it was 75. I feel like UWorld was definitely helpful. Although I can't remember what the question was anymore but I even saw 1 question that was actually exactly the same on the actual NCLEX. I took my time and reviewed the rationale to make sure I didn't make the same mistake the next time doing the questions on UWorld.

UWORLD NCLEX-RN Self Assessment
I took mine the weekend before my NCLEX. I scored 66% which put me in the 92nd percentile and "Very high" predictability to pass. It was a goo practice and good ego booster for me. I took my NCLEX on Friday and I found I passed on Sunday. Best wishes!!

The jitters have already started...
I personally didn't even pay attention to the number of the questions. I was so focused on the question that I was on that didn't realize what number I was shut off, but I'm pretty sure it was at the 75th question. I was sorta panicking during my exam because I had several questions that I had no idea and had to guess. However, I found out I passed and I am so relieved. When I felt super anxious, I put my hand on my upper diaphragm/chest and took deep breaths and read the questions words by words to see what the keywords of the question were. I took my break around 68th question, I think. I used the bathroom, took a sip of water and went back to the test. Take breaks and deep breaths as needed! and me personally, I prayed before I started my exam. :) Best wishes!

Words of encouragement for first NCLEX attempt
Hi! I have very similar backgrounds as you! I graduated in Dec 2016 and did Live Hurst Review. My stats were 67/125, 83/125, and 76/125. I only did 3 Q assessments because I was scared I might fail and wanted to save half of them lol Anyhow, I just took my NCLEX on 1/13 and I found out today that I passed! :) Don't worry too much about the stats. I recommend just keep practicing. I was so burnt out and my brain was pretty much refusing to study and take in more information at one point like a couple days before my exam. So, I took time off and took a break from studying for hours and got back to studying. Do what works for you of course, but I wouldn't recommend over-studying. That certainly didn't help me. Best wishes!

Do you know if our base-pay stays the same once our residency is over?

I am not proud of my track record.
Sorry, but not sorry. This post really shocks and concerns me. I really hope BON does make a good judgment about your error. I would not want my child or family member to be taken care of by a nurse like you, to be honest. If you thought it is "too strict" in nursing, you really should not be a nurse. You're working with people's health and lives on daily basis. That is not a joke. You really need to take this seriously. How would you feel if your patient dies because of your mistakes or you get sued for fraud or malpractice for what you did or did not do? I hope you realize the seriousness of this job before you graduate from the RN program.

Parkland ER Residency Feb 2017
Yea, I assumed from the interview that we wear Royal Blue and can wear black bottom. Does anyone know officially? And does anyone know how many are going to be in our cohort?

Parkland Interview Process
They didn't ask me any case study questions. They were mostly "tell me about the time when you..." questions. And I will in the ER Residency.
