Is it too early to start a thread like this? LOL
I'll be finishing up my pre-requisites this fall, and then applying in the spring for the Summer 2010 session. I still need to study for the NAT and actually take the exam and take a CPR course. I'm considering getting my CNA and trying to find work in healthcare to get my foot in the door.
I am so nervous about the whole process, nervous about whether I should try to work and go to school, and especially nervous if this is something I can handle. I am afraid of all the responsibility.
Anyone else planning for next Summer? What is your process looking like, what are your thoughts/feelings?
Got denial letter today, 97 on list. YES 97! I was the next one. Maybe there is hope. I hope :). I am keeping my finger cross. I guess I will know next week. My pts. 195.60.
I would definitely be prepared , in this thread alone I remember reading someone got accepted and was going to another school. They will be calling you soon more than likely!
Jen,
I'm with you.. I'm also taking a different humanites to acquire 6 extra points and I plan to retake the NAT again in May - I hope to apply with over 200 points next semester or at least close enough. I applied this semester with 191.60 so let's cross our fingers!
SadLPN, wow that's harsh... You almost almost made it!! You have a good good chance of getting a call - I hope you're ready and Good Luck!

97? WOW :smackingf That means there were 5 people between 195.6 and 194.68! ...And no one between 197.98 and 195.6... WOW!
Hopefully a spot opens for you... (and 5 more please :yelclap: ) Not wishing anyone ill will here... I just want at least 6 more seats to magically open up :hpygrp:
I also got my letter today. I was 102 of 385 applicants and 96 got in...They also took the lower of the 2 possible ways to calculate my points... So now I know, they take the highest TOTAL Academic Aptitude over all points on the NAT but not the highest points from each area of the Academic Aptitude... Still there was only 6 people between 197.96 and 194.68... That's not bad... Hurry 6 more people decline your seats ASAP.
The letter also says there was an information session today at 10:00am... glad I got this letter afterwards... :hdvwl: Actually I had a 10:30 appointment with an advisor at Kent campus that helped me out a little. She IS letting me retake Sociology but only because I took it at another school and it was the same year they supposedly changed the rules regarding retaking passing grades... Yeah for me being old... lol I also am taking a different humanties course this summer... I probably don't need to do either, since I am so close in points but IF I don't get in Fall term, this gives me 9 more points for Spring Applications. If I only do Sociology, it would still boost me just over 200 pts. So why not give myself the extra wiggle room?
I'm so happy you're getting to retake Sociology! I have to say it does bother me that FSCJ is so misleading with students. If I had been able to retake ENC110 (that I originally took in '92!) I would have had NO problem getting into the program this past spring or this summer. However, I was told NO WAY, NO HOW by the DEAN! So frustrating! So, JenPerez, I say to you....RUN and sign up for that class quick! LOL Now, I am going to orientation at SJRCC tomorrow:yeah: and I'm well on my way to become a !!! So, all in all, I am glad that it worked for me. Just frustrated for others, like yourself, that have such a hard time retaking classes that are soooo old! SJRCC, so far, has really impressed me with their professionalism and positive and siwft responses!
Good luck with the sociology class and you WILL get in for the fall......you could with the points that you have right now :)

The only reason they are letting me is b/c an advisor at Kent Campus signed me up for it. I debated going to North Campus but figured this was a better bet. My Microbiology prof had suggested I see her late last fall but after waiting 3 weeks to see her, she was out sick the day of my appointment and I was going to have to wait another 3 weeks or more to see her... So I just gave up on it. I'm glad I went now... now I wish I had listened to my professor way back in the fall.
Congrats jkvanso!
Just got back from orientation a while ago.Im in section 6 that goes to the Baptist Beaches.
Looks like I have to get boosters for 2 of the titers. Does Northside Medical Clinic do those?
Also, I "donated" 5 bucks to get one of the used white uniform top, but it has the old FCCJ patch.
I am also in group 6.
You can order patches from Meridy's
