FCCJ Summer 2010 hopefuls...

Published

Is it too early to start a thread like this? LOL

I'll be finishing up my pre-requisites this fall, and then applying in the spring for the Summer 2010 session. I still need to study for the NAT and actually take the exam and take a CPR course. I'm considering getting my CNA and trying to find work in healthcare to get my foot in the door.

I am so nervous about the whole process, nervous about whether I should try to work and go to school, and especially nervous if this is something I can handle. I am afraid of all the responsibility.

Anyone else planning for next Summer? What is your process looking like, what are your thoughts/feelings?

I live off old middleburg road. If u r coming from mandarin go 295 north to 103rd street and turn left. Go about 1.5 miles and old middleburg will be on the right. Make the right and the church is at the corner of old middleburg and fouraker.

I'm starting to stress, I got my titers drawn today and was told it would take up to 7 days to get them back on the base. !! I dont know what to do now !

OH and the class is at a church on Old Middleburg Road. Address: 4151 Old Middleburg Road, 32210

That's the class I signed up for as well. Its cheaper than FSCJ's class since it includes all materials and I needed a Saturday class.

See you tomorrow! :)

I think it was stated before in this topic that as long as you have some sort of paper to prove that you have it done and are waiting for the results, you should be okay.

I think a lot of people wont have their results by the 19th because of how little time we had.

That is what the lady at North campus told me. As long as you have some sort of paperwork to prove you've had them drawn, that is most important. However, if you get them drawn a day or two before the 19th, I don't know how lenient she will be... I wouldn't think it would matter but, what do I know?

Well i should be ok, the soonest the would be back is next fri( that would make 7 days exactly.)

Will anyone be taking the CPR course at patient transport on Wednesday?

As far as titers and CPR and all those things, there were people in my class (Summer of '08) who did not have them completed and/or turned in until after we started classes. So do not worry so much about it (and you can turn stuff in at orientation) =)

Is anyone else feeling as overwhelmed as I am? I feel like I don't even know where to start.

I'm a military wife. Did anyone get all their stuff on base? Or is the general consensus is that everyone is going to the Northside to get it done? Which is faster and easier?

Are we all trying to meet up next weekend?

Misstoto I am a military wife and I went to the base. The only thing that cant be done on base is the drug test. I got my passport photo done at the UPS store where I did my fingerprints. Good luck!!

Salena~Mayport or Jax? Are you going to be able to get your tests read in time? Does every UPS store do fingerprints? I'm so backwards right now!!!!

I went to jax. They should be done in a couple days. thats what the doc told me. Once you go to do the fingerprinting paperwork it will give you the places to go. I think they all do passport photos. I've seen it in the ones I've been in.
