Is it too early to start a thread like this? LOL
I'll be finishing up my pre-requisites this fall, and then applying in the spring for the Summer 2010 session. I still need to study for the NAT and actually take the exam and take a CPR course. I'm considering getting my CNA and trying to find work in healthcare to get my foot in the door.
I am so nervous about the whole process, nervous about whether I should try to work and go to school, and especially nervous if this is something I can handle. I am afraid of all the responsibility.
Anyone else planning for next Summer? What is your process looking like, what are your thoughts/feelings?
No matter when/where I get accepted I will need it, so I am getting the CPR out of the way. If I get accepted to the Fall term, I'll already have it done. Plus, not all the letters have gone out yet since people can (and actually do)decline their seats
SO there may still be hope for us.
Depending on how they calculate my points I either have 194.68 or 195.96 (I improved on some areas of the NAT and did worse on others the 2nd time). Either way my score is higher then 193.84
I think they use the raw scores from the same test. I don't think you can mix and match parts of the tests together; like the Academic Aptitude from one test with the Reading Comp and Natural Sciences from another test just to get the highest individual scores. I could be wrong, the best person to ask would be someone in the admissions office. Of course if you have been reading these post over the last year, you probably recall the inconsistencies pertaining to admissions and how it was hard to get a straight answer on how people in different counties were treated as far as who got in with what score...
i know how you feel psq153a. it seems like it would be a good thing to just get an answer and move on, but good things come to those who wait? :)i'm in micro. now, i haven't gotten anything in the mail or email yet. my score is, i think' 1/10 of a point under the person who has posted with the lowest accepted points.
i did my cpr in january? there is a lady on the list named sally serna that does the class at her home. it worked out very well and i would recommend her. it was also more affordable. i think it was $25.?
hey, what time is your micro class? i am in micro mw 8 - 1050 at kent.

According to you know who in the Nursing Department (can't name names on here) you can mix and match but I am not sure if they will mix and match the individual parts of the Academic Aptitude individual sections as well. If they only mix and match the 3 main sections, then I have the lower of the 2 scores... 194.68... If they will take the highest of each individual section in the Academic Aptitude as well, then I have 195.96

O.K., so basically if the earlier post that showed a 193.84 was accurate in calculating their points (so far the lowest point total that I have seen getting an acceptance e-mail) you should be in reguardless of which way they use. I don't recall how I asked to be notified, yours may just be in the snail mail on the way to you now.
Good luck to you, I hope to read a post from you when you get your letter!!!
So a friend of mine in Clay County just called and said she got Nights and Weekends with 203 pts. That's the lowest I have heard so far for Nights and Weekends... Figured I'd let you all know... Plus Clay usually are selected after Duval...
203 points seem low for the Night/Weekend classes! This is really stressful....I wish they would notify us all at once. I don't understand why they don't. I guess they know what they're doing!
203 seems a little low for out of county, too. I was told they only reserve 10% of the seats for students outside of Duval/Nassau counties. Maybe since we are now a state college instead of a community college that has changed? Oh, well, let me go back to staring out of the window to the mailbox!!
