FCCJ Summer 2009, anyone?

Published

Well, it's never too soon to start thinking about this. Anyone else thinking of applying for Summer 2009?

OH. Your saying that the Physical and PPD have to be completed by April 11th which would be 1 month before May 11th! Ok that makes more sense! Why couldnt they have just said that then!!!

Just an FYI: what Misswhitney said about nights and weekends isn't true... I'm in nights& wknds right now and we all thought we would be at Deerwood but we are at North campus for the entire program. Anyone that got into N/W's for the summer will be at Deerwood the entire time; anyone that applies for N/W for the spring or fall will be at North campus the entire time. They only have one set of N/W's students at Deerwood at a time... but anyone that gets to go to Deerwood is pretty lucky cuz all of their labs are brand new.

I was kinda right then...lol for them, they will be at Deerwood. I went there to study once; VERY NICE. You guys are lucky.

If ANY one can help me clarify this I would REALLY appreciate it.

I have to take out student loans to live off of while I am in the classes. I have been to the financial aid office and they are giving me the run around. I have a 2 year old son and I will not be able to work full time and complete the program at the same time. I get FAFSA to cover my classes but not books or living expenses.

FCCJ only supports 3 lenders which include Bank of America, Suntrust and some other bank. I called Bank of America and they said they only lend federal loans that support tuition and school. So what do I do about living expenses? I need a student loan so that repayment does not start until 6 months after the program ends.

Would I be able to contact a different lender that FCCJ does not "support". I hope I have enough time to get all of this completed. I am already stressing out (*teardrop)

Anyone know of a place I can get a physical done that isn't going to cost me an arm and a leg? Thanks.

They suggest a place for you to get it done but I am not too sure how much it is though. I would call them and find out. My doctor charges $75 w/o insurance.

I would try to get Worksource. They paid for all my tuition and books. I will talk to my friend and ask her what she had because she is not really working right now.

2009 Whitney,

Relax. I get BOA student loans. You apply online. They send the money to the school. The school cuts you a check for the excess (whatever is above what was charged for tuition and books (these can be 'pended' against your SL)). Nobody is going to examine whether the bank or the feds money hit your account and they aren't going to check and see where you spent it.

Also, SL are for TUITION BOOKS AND ROOM & BOARD. Your living expenses are your VALID 'room and board' costs so you are not breaking any rules. OK. I do this every semester. Hasn't been a problem yet.

The ONLY thing you need to be aware of is....school starts May 2nd, you will NOT get a dime of that money prior to June 2nd. OK. THis is just how things are done.

I'm still not clear on this physical thing, can someone break it down...I have my physical scheduled for monday...

What are the instructions for the color photo? I didn't see it included in the packet- did I miss it?

It has to be a passport photo. I went to CVS and got mine for $7. They don't really use it for anything, just to keep in your file.

Thanks misswhitney! Do you happen to have the instruction sheet still or has anybody from my semester seen where it is in the packet?

Also any advice on stethoscopes? I'm toggling between the master cardio and the cardio III- Any thoughts?
