Did you recieve it by mail, connections, at the bookstore? Where? This is the first time I'll be using financial aid and don't know how to get/use the vouchers. That would be awesome if I could get a voucher for the skills kit! I have plenty of fin aid left over after tuition and fees are deducted but it looks like connections is down right now as far as fin aid is concerned and I can't check it. I'll check again tomorrow and next week but I need to go to the campus bookstore and get my books ASAP. I was waiting on Xmas money to get the rest of what Fin Aid won't pay for. ANy help you guys have would be great.

All I have left to get are books, polo's and skills kit. Can I just go to Florida Specialty? I saw on an earlier post they don't take credit cards...still true? I guess I could just call though.

If you already have been awarded your financial aid, on Dec 14th the book voucher was posted to your account and all you have to do is give you SSN to the clerk at the bookstore when you check out and it will be applied to your book voucher. The voucher for the skills kit came from my WorkSource grant. You can just go to Florida Specialty for your polo and they do accept cc! :)

Sweet! Thanks for the info. I went and got my polos and skills kit today. Now all I have left is the Box'O'Books :D

Can anyone tell me the ISBN# for the Dosage Calculations book. The ISBN# on the sheet they gave us at orientation is wrong. The book they used last semester is the 2006 edition and they are coming out with a 2010 edition in January. Which book are we using? Has anyone bought this book from the bookstore? What color is the cover? Thanks so much! Any info is apprecaited.

It is 9781418015633 Dosage calculations a ratio-proportion approach. It has a kind of burnt orange cover with a black stripe with the title in it. I'm pretty sure the second edition.

What is everyone studying for dosage calculations? Is it chapters 1-4 or just the stuff on the study sheets? I know that she said that we didn't need to know everything in the chapters, but I am slightly confused.

Topics 1 and 2 are the only things being covered on Test 1, look at the independent study ppt and it will tell you what parts of Ch1-4 you need to know for the exam! :)

Thank you FutureRNMom!

awesome - thanks so much and sorry to ask the same question - there were just so many posts! Anyway - if you need this book it is on half.com for like $25:)

So, I just wanted to get some opinions and thoughts... Are you guys as scared as I am? OMG, I am finding myself totally freaking out over this dosage calculation stuff, I know that it is pretty basic math but I still keep asking myself if I can do this!! It is crazy and I think I am just panicking and over reacting but I wanted to see how everybody else is doing??? Hopefully, better than I am!

The first dosage calc test is easy (well, for me it was). All you need to do is remember some conversions (ie: divide weight in pounds by 2.2 to get kgs.) Aside from the conversions they teach you, it is just basic math. You will get to IV calcs in second term.

So far I have gotten 100% on every dosage calc test.

Thanks FLmom

I think I am just freaking out! I know I can do it but it is scary to think that someone could flunk out the first day of nursing school! Yeah, I am over reacting.
