Hello all! Just thought I'd start a thread for all of those folks that have submitted, or are getting ready to submit, their applications for FCCJ's Fall '08 term.
I will be submitting my application in a few weeks, when this Spring term ends. I have taken my NAT (twice), so I'm good to go there, but still need to get my CPR class done. I called several places & I'm waiting to hear back from them.
I look forward to chatting with & getting to know all of you, who will be doing the count-down with me... on getting our acceptance letters!!!
I know it helps to sound-board off each other & to lean on each other for support... especially with getting all the things done that we have to do!
Best of luck & success to all!!!
I got section 3... thank goodness that's over with. I didn't get to meet everyone today; I have a killer ear infection and can't hear a thing out of my right ear, it's got me off my game, so I was not as sociable as I would have liked to have been. But, I did meet a few of you "allnurses" peeps
(I met Joy, Sam and Beth and Megan for the 2nd time.) Everyone has been so nice & I know we will all help pull each other through this journey when things get rocky. We are one step closer to December 7, 2009!
Hey yall!! It was awesome to meet everyone. I'm in Section 11 too! I think it is funny that most of us are in that Section.
On a crazy note....I haven't hidden my intentions to go to the nursing program from anyone at work, I've made it abundantly clear. No one said anything and now that I have my schedule and know how much I can work my Boss's boss is saying that I can't work here with that schedule. My boss said she'll talk to her and see if a) we can just try it out for a while since it would be awful to retrain someone at our busiest time of the year and/or b) I can come in early or work late or even maybe help in the testing office in the afternoons to make up hours. My boss is awesome, and I understand that they need hours covered. I just don't understand how they couldn't have made this clear a long time ago when I told them what I was doing. Now I have a husband, a house payment, an extra dog, and all the extra costs of going to nursing school.
I just want to cry, but I can't while I'm at work. I like this job, for all that it is crazy sometimes. I just can't believe it.
I just need to focus on the studying they gave us, maybe that will help.
Sorry about your job. That's got to be frustrating.
I'm in section 11 too. Only got to meet up with Megan (who I've already met). Sorry I didn't meet more of you guys. But I guess I'll be seeing a lot of section 11 people soon.
The worksource voucher took forever but that's $950 I didn't have to spend. I'm happy with my schedule, good for the kids and Baptist DT is closer than most. We're on our way, ladies (and gentleman!).
It was great to meet a lot of you guys. Melanie....your a trip!!!!! I would love to have had class with you. You were cracking me up. I got section 4. It was my 4th choice and I had #103. Oh well, it's all good. I just feel like my head is still spinning from all that info. At least we can all plan our lives out now for the next couple of months. Dizern..I'm glad you got your choice. I felt so bad for you and how stressed out that number was making you but I have kids too so I understand. I wish all you guys luck! I wish someone from here would have picked session 4 so I would know someone. I feel alone again.
Tsayuga :: Everything will work out Sweetie!!! I think your boss will fight for you.
Everyone :: lol. it's kinda funny that so many of us picked 11. i really wanted section-3. It was Mon-Thurs (day hours). I still like the fact that I got Baptist...my day off is Thurs, and on Tues we have class until 9pm... My husband has to go to work @9pm...so I'm trying to see how this is going to work out. My oldest is 10, but she's not old enough to stay home with a 2, 3, and 6yo. The daycare is tripping...I just need to find a 24 hr daycare with transportation.
I am in 9, I guess I am the odd girl out. I wanted St. Vincents and Wednesdays off due to early release and Catechism night. Now it is just waiting for 9am tomorrow so I can offically print out my schedule! I am a little concerned since I cannot find anything on Gill and 2 of the other teachers have so-so ratings. Oh well I needed the schedule that fit the best and will make the best of the teachers and I have 23 other students suffering through it with me! lol

whew! i'm glad that is over. that 10 min to pick a schedule was soooooo stressful
i wish we would have had more time. i am not one that makes rash decisions like that. i'm in session 1, is anyone else in 1 or 2? i had to go back to work so i don't know if you all went to panera or not, but it was great meeting some of you today.
