Hello all! Just thought I'd start a thread for all of those folks that have submitted, or are getting ready to submit, their applications for FCCJ's Fall '08 term.
I will be submitting my application in a few weeks, when this Spring term ends. I have taken my NAT (twice), so I'm good to go there, but still need to get my CPR class done. I called several places & I'm waiting to hear back from them.
I look forward to chatting with & getting to know all of you, who will be doing the count-down with me... on getting our acceptance letters!!!
I know it helps to sound-board off each other & to lean on each other for support... especially with getting all the things done that we have to do!
Best of luck & success to all!!!
Just a thought, we could all just pin a piece of paper or ribbon on our shirt. I was thinking we could just put it on like a ribbon would be put on for breast cancer awareness or to honor a soldier. Y'all know what I mean? It doesn't have to be big... that way we don't look too strange to the others, but we would know what was goin' on. We could all wear it on the left side over our hearts... cuz God knows we've put our hearts into getting to this point. It could be any color, but should be a contrasting color of the shirt one wears, so that it doesn't disappear. What do y'all think?
I'm so freakin' excited about tomorrow... I hope I'll be able to sleep tonight.
Sounds good, but where would I find a piece of ribbon in this toddler-toy strewn house of mine? If I can't find a ribbon, I'll just wear my black shirt and call it good...
I'm excited too but it's tempered by the new sitter. Kids love her but it's the first time alone with them all morning...I'm a little nervous about their behavior and such!
Okay..for the dosage calc..when can we get it??? The work source lady told me I needed to wait before I get books, but I might just go ahead and get that one so I can study. I don't want to be the only not knowing her stuff!! lol....I'm soooooo excited. I'm going to try my hardest and sleep tonight. We'll see..I'm sure all of us will be rolling in with bags under our eyes and yawns tomorrow morning. Well seee you ladies and Gent bright and early in the morning:)!!
You should get the info today because the timeline in the guide says to complete certain chapters before orientation and the first week of classes and then others say to complete chapters before the second week of school. I would get that book as soon as possible. But also, remember, my info came from 2 semesters ago and that could be different now so just wait and see what happens today. But be assured it's not that hard. I even had to do the first 2 chapters to refresh myself on some stuff and I have completed 5 chapters in less than a week(doing every practice problem there is) and only have 3 left and had Lasik in between, so it is not too much. Now watch, the 3 chapters I have left will be killers and I will regret posting this (haha).

I'm not wearing black (to hot) or a green dot but I will have my sunglasses on (more than likely). That was the easiest, greatest surgery ever!!!!!!! For anyone thinking about Lasik, go for it. My biggest problem is forgetting I had it and forgetting my drops. Hopefully my fear of nursing school will be as unnecessary as my fear of that surgery! Anyway, I hope to meet some of you tomorrow. If not, I'm sure I will soon. By the way, a friend of mine is in her second term and she had previously sent me all the dosage calc. test stuff so when I got my book I knew exactly what to study. I only have 3 chapters left. It is NOT hard at all. Do not be scared of it. A couple of formulas, a small list of conversions to memorize, and common sense and you'll get it. Hope this takes some pressure off!
