Hello all! Just thought I'd start a thread for all of those folks that have submitted, or are getting ready to submit, their applications for FCCJ's Fall '08 term.
I will be submitting my application in a few weeks, when this Spring term ends. I have taken my NAT (twice), so I'm good to go there, but still need to get my CPR class done. I called several places & I'm waiting to hear back from them.
I look forward to chatting with & getting to know all of you, who will be doing the count-down with me... on getting our acceptance letters!!!
I know it helps to sound-board off each other & to lean on each other for support... especially with getting all the things done that we have to do!
Best of luck & success to all!!!
With worksource...I was wondering if its even worth trying now because I got the paperwork and noticed that it asked questions about financial info. I'm a dependent and still live with my parents and already have a bright futures scholarship. Would anyone else still bother filling all this stuff out?? lol..i just don't want to work on this and then find out I get no help. Thanks you guys!!! Wow!! Orientation is getting even closer. Is anyone else pumped??
Ok, with worksource, here's what I know. If your bright futures covers just tuition, then they will probably cover books. It's worth a call to ask. Also, I had said they are secondary, which means if you get another scholarship, they will deduct that amount from your worksource acct. I.E. - if you get a $1000 scholarship, they'll take $1000 away from your account. But the lady at North said to apply for what you can anyway and then talk to her about it and she'll do what she can so you can keep your money. And from what she said, the book portion is in voucher form. So you need to use it at the bookstore. Give her your list of books and she'll give you a voucher for that amount to use at the bookstore. Oh, a a fun personal note (sarcasm), artemis is down and has been for days and I have 2 sociology assignments due tonight at midnight. Argghh!!

Your parents would have to make less than $25hr combined for you to qualify. So if they make ore than that I don't think worksource will be an option for you. But, congrats on the bright future, mine expired because it has been so long since I graduated from high school.
Hey guys, My name is Kalli... I just wanted to introduce myself since everyone else is! I can't believe orientation is in a few days, i'm nervous and excited, and terrified all at once! ya my family is tired of all this nursing stuff to, my husband can't wait for these 16 months to be over lol! I'm looking forward to meeting everybody! I still haven't got my uniforms, I ordered them probally a week and a half ago so i guess mine will take longer... how long did it take you guys to get yours after you ordered? my appt. for worksource is tommorrow, I'm just hoping for some relief! do they give you a book voucher for the exact amount, or is it like a blank amount and then fccj bills worksource? Boy this is going to cost us some bucks!
Thanks for all your support you guys!! I think I will just call Mary Ann tomorrow, ask her some questions, and then decide if I need to set up an appointment with worksource. I'm soooo excited about Thursday!! It will be soooo nice to meet everyone and get this going. Hope everyone is having a good night!!
Worksource WILL NOT help me. They say that I signed up before and they lost contact, so I have a negative thingy on my record with them. This sucks because I don't even have my financial aid stuff straight with North Campus.
I am so p'd off right now! I might have to wait until the spring. I don't have any aid.
