Hello all! Just thought I'd start a thread for all of those folks that have submitted, or are getting ready to submit, their applications for FCCJ's Fall '08 term.
I will be submitting my application in a few weeks, when this Spring term ends. I have taken my NAT (twice), so I'm good to go there, but still need to get my CPR class done. I called several places & I'm waiting to hear back from them.
I look forward to chatting with & getting to know all of you, who will be doing the count-down with me... on getting our acceptance letters!!!
I know it helps to sound-board off each other & to lean on each other for support... especially with getting all the things done that we have to do!
Best of luck & success to all!!!
Thanks amberb! My husband got it done about 12 years ago and has been after me ever since but I have been freaked out about messing with my eyes. I figured now was the best time since I always forget my indoor glasses. My sunglasses are prescription and I never leave without them but I have found myself in class not being able to see because of only having my sunglasses. You made me feel better about it.
Heads up everyone! I went to the bookstore today to pick up some of the books. I wanted to get the dosage calc book because we have a test on that the second week of classes. I went ahead and bought what I could except for the books that are in a bundled pack which was not available yet and 2 other books that they were sold out of. The bundled book package is $581.16. The estimate for the other books you will have to get is..... dosage calc - $85.00 new, iclicker- $37.25, medical dictionary used - $39.95, Laboratory & Diagnostic - $34.25 used, RN clinical pocket guide - $24.95 new and then there are 2 other books they were out of that roughly cost $120.00 together. Just wanted to give you an idea.

Can you post the ISBN's (the numbers on the back of the book) so that I can price it out on Amazon and other book websites. I will post best deals.
Thanks :wink2:
Jlike: How did you get the book list already??? Oh man..I too feel like I missed something. I'm dreading paying for books, but I guess it has to happen sooner or later. I would like to start studying NOW..lol. Thats alot of stuff to be tested on just two weeks into the program.
I also heard we can try Chambline's Bookmine for some of the books and study guides. They are probably wayyyyyy cheaper than the book store on Campus. T
Everyone:
I also got my uniforms today!! The tops fit okay..they are both smalls, but still kind of big. The bottoms fit great (drawstrings are always the best way to go). The khaki's I am sending back and buying from somewhere else. The Lab Coat is way too big, but I might end up keeping it. Anyone else Returning or Exchanging uniforms with the company?? I have a Medium Labcoat, but need a small or x-small. (So..if someones doesn't fit, we can exchange). Anyone else have problems??
Wait...hold on..Don't we get a certain book list depending on what professor we get?? Or are they all the same. I know that some professors may want a certain one than what others do. Would it be better to wait until after orientation?? Thanks you guys!!!!!!!!!..lol..can u tell that I have a Type A personality??
LOL. I PM'd FloridaRN2Be my name...this was kinda for everybody because I don't think I ever told anyone ???
I'm so excited. I have a countdown 'til orientation going on in my planner. My hubby, mom, sister, and friends are so sick of me and this nursing stuff, that it's not even funny. They think I'm bipolar. One day I am so excited saying "I can't wait, I'm so happy"...then next day I'm screaming "I hate this (S-word), (F-word) nursing"...

It is probably better to wait. My friend had it done at 20 and now at 28 she is wearing glasses again.
