FCCJ Fall 2008

Published

Hello all! Just thought I'd start a thread for all of those folks that have submitted, or are getting ready to submit, their applications for FCCJ's Fall '08 term.

I will be submitting my application in a few weeks, when this Spring term ends. I have taken my NAT (twice), so I'm good to go there, but still need to get my CPR class done. I called several places & I'm waiting to hear back from them.

I look forward to chatting with & getting to know all of you, who will be doing the count-down with me... on getting our acceptance letters!!!

I know it helps to sound-board off each other & to lean on each other for support... especially with getting all the things done that we have to do!

Best of luck & success to all!!!

Nice to meet you!! Its sooo nice to have someone close by. Is anyone else interested as well??

Does anyone know if they will accept proof of a Tetorifice vaccination on a copy of a Florida Heallth Department Immunizations form?? I also wrote the date on the physical form we have.

I was going to turn my stuff in today, but didn't end up getting a chance to go. Hopefully I will get up to North Campus tomorrow.

As long as it is within ten years from what I understand. I had the same questions when I called, and she told me I could do that:)

I've gotten all my medical stuff taken care of!! But my hep B. came back too low, so I'm gonna do the declination form and start the shots next week. For a while I thought the declination meant we declined the program! LOL

Hey girl, I had the same issue with my Hep B. It said I had some antibodies, but the test was inconclusive. The lady at the clinic said because I had enough antibodies a booster shot could do the trick. The booster is $50. I went ahead and got the booster and will go back in a month to get another titer drawn. You could potentially save some money that way. So...I will also be signing the declination form. lol..and I thought the same thing as well the first time I saw the form.

LOL! At least I don't feel so dumb now to have thought that! It was just a little unclear. I wanted to get the titers up anyways because I'm sure we'll need it at sometime if they ask for it.

so I went to turn in my packet and the lady said at the front desk " were not accepting them until AUG 1ST" i said are you sure because the packet has the deadline as july 31 st, she was lik eok i thought you were turning in a nursing packet for the spring semester, I am sure glad im not an idiot that just listens to what people say because she would of had me turning my packet in late!!!!! ALWAYS QUESTION PEOPLE!

Is it too late to apply? I have emailed the teacher twice already and have not gotten any responses...do I have to have my CPR and TABE done before? Can I go part time? Any info would be great! Thanks!

Oh...forgot to say...I am interested in the PN-LPN certfication program....

the LPN program is run completely different at FCCJ than the RN program when it comes to alot of stuff. You should get an LPN packet. It will explain a lot of things to you, including deadlines to apply. They have them in the Advising office at South Campus and I'm sure somewhere on the North Campus. Good luck!!

Well, I turned in all my stuff in on Thursday... what a relief!

By the way, had the pleasure of meeting "Tsayuga", last Wednesday at the Northside Clinic, and she is so nice! Unfortunetly, I didn't get your first name...we were being shuffled around, we had only gotten to share our screen names. I realized it later on, and felt silly for not asking... my bad.

Well, it was great meeting you. I'm thrilled to have turned in my stuff...I just hope I did everything right. Now it's time to order some really snazzy scrubs...lol!!!
