FCCJ Fall 2008

Published

Hello all! Just thought I'd start a thread for all of those folks that have submitted, or are getting ready to submit, their applications for FCCJ's Fall '08 term.

I will be submitting my application in a few weeks, when this Spring term ends. I have taken my NAT (twice), so I'm good to go there, but still need to get my CPR class done. I called several places & I'm waiting to hear back from them.

I look forward to chatting with & getting to know all of you, who will be doing the count-down with me... on getting our acceptance letters!!!

I know it helps to sound-board off each other & to lean on each other for support... especially with getting all the things done that we have to do!

Best of luck & success to all!!!

:thankya:

Has anyone noticed I hit my centennial mark on posts?!?!

:anpom:

I know I get cupcakes or something! lol

Ok so I just have one small rant.... I got my tetorifice shot done on monday, and today is wed. and it still hurts like crazy! my husband keeps calling me a baby, but it is so sore! Tommorrow will be my last day of running around like a chicken with my head cut off, tommorrow I get my fingerprinting done, and i'm all finished :chuckle Now I just have to make sure My house is organized, and get some time in the sun before my life is over for 16 months lol! So just needed to vent, Oh and I'm down for a study group.. I live off of Merrill.. not to far from southside, or north campus, so we need to be planning this thing! I think these next 16 months will be so much easier with a support group! ok i'm gonna stop griping and get some sleep.. talk to you ladies tommorrow... hey I wonder if any guys will be in our term?

My arm is killing me, too! I have given birth, so I feel like a whiner complaining about the pain from a stupid vaccine... but geeze... my arm is so swollen and it really hurts!!! I feel like a human pin cushion, what with all the needles that have been put in my body this week. Thank goodness that's over with. Well, until I have to go back for the 2 additional Hep B boosters.1228_sad_person_crying.gif

On the Nat I had 151 pts before the .64 ofcourse the only things I would have studied more is proportions and some of the basics from micro

I turned in my physical form, titers, TB and tetorifice record, fingerprint authorization, drug screen receipt, background check confirmation, photo, copy of CPR and drivers license, and signed health form. The lady at the front desk checked it all and I watched her distribute it out and she said I had everything.

bossladii- you were right, the worksource guy was so nice today. i had an appt with him at 1pm. i guess thats just how he is on the phone. i hope i get it. fingers crossed!!!:nuke:

well as if the regular paperwork isn't enough to deal with, i have been denied financial aid because of the 150% rule. so i will be dealing with the appeal process. does any know if anyone ever got denied the appeal?? i know i have to show them my acceptance letter but is their a chance that it will still be denied?

i also have to do the hep b series. is anyone going to sign the declination form? i am still going to get the series but i don't think it will be done by the time we go to clinicals.

thanks

as far as your appeal goes. i talked to mr. bolin about that very thing. i told him that some of the nursing students that i applied with have been denied due to that 150% rule...he said that you should appeal, and that the appeal should go through with no problem because the nursing field is in such a need. it's not like you are appealing to take meaningless classes...which they would more than likely deny.

as far as the hep b thingy...i am going to sign the declination form...but, i am still going through with the series. the nursing office said that would be fine. you just have to have the form signed to cover them if anything happens to you...but if you go ahead with the series after signing the form...it's ok.

The NAT - when you take a number and times it by a decimal point that is less than 1, you get a smaller number. Like: 188 x .64 = 120.32.

Financial Aid Appeal - I was told that as long as I do the appeal at the North Campus, and attach the acceptance letter that it should go thorugh. (by a bunch of people I work with)

I got my fingerprinting done today and there was no line, which was great because I was with my kids. I also picked up my polo shirt (very nice couple - gave my son a bouncy ball). I called on the skills kit and they're not finished yet. I was told next week they'd be ready. I've ordered my uniforms but they haven't come in yet. Has anyone gotten theirs?

I went today too. There was one girl there besides me. The man said that yesterday was sooooo crazy and that it is normally only 1-3 people at a time. I went at 11:30am took like five mins to find it though. FYI the building has a name now for those of you that have not gone yet. Methodist Episcopal Church and the name is at the very top of the four story building. He said that they put it up yesterday. Funny thing is I would have never thought to put DNA fingerprinting and church together so I would have still had trouble finding it. I just so happen to see people in the parking lotwith papers and I remember someone on here saying something about the fence. (Thanks again):)

Does anyone know if they will accept proof of a Tetorifice vaccination on a copy of a Florida Heallth Department Immunizations form?? I also wrote the date on the physical form we have.

I was going to turn my stuff in today, but didn't end up getting a chance to go. Hopefully I will get up to North Campus tomorrow.
