Hello all! Just thought I'd start a thread for all of those folks that have submitted, or are getting ready to submit, their applications for FCCJ's Fall '08 term.
I will be submitting my application in a few weeks, when this Spring term ends. I have taken my NAT (twice), so I'm good to go there, but still need to get my CPR class done. I called several places & I'm waiting to hear back from them.
I look forward to chatting with & getting to know all of you, who will be doing the count-down with me... on getting our acceptance letters!!!
I know it helps to sound-board off each other & to lean on each other for support... especially with getting all the things done that we have to do!
ok...I'm a dummy. It is the 7th. Uniform Deadline for payment is August 6th. I'm sorry. I've been going in circles trying to keep all of these dates together...
Well, I went up to the North Campus today and got absolutely no where. Cheryl doesn't work on Mondays in the summer, so they couldn't even tell me what address they sent my letter to. LOL, I would be bummed out, but I just can't stress about this anymore. I could barely sleep last night. I know I had enough points, so what is to worry about? I've asked the Dean to look into why they couldn't tell me anything. I wish they would give me a little more to work with but they won't. I'm not giving up, I just know that I have to wait until I get a letter or until a certain time. I'll call Cheryl again tomorrow and just ask her when would be an appropriate time to call when I still haven't gotten a letter. Wish me luck one way or the other!!
Does anyone know about the negative drug test result that they want us to have with our packets? I had mine done on Friday but the lady said I just needed the copy of the chain of custody form but in the packet it clearly says "with a negative result." Do I have to go pick it up or our we fine with just the copy saying we went and did the test? Thanks in advance!! Also do we need to wear anything in particular for orientation? See you all there!!

Was the previous address local? If so I would go to their house and knock on the door and ask if they had possibly gotten a large white envelope? Then you'd have an idea if it was sent there or not. :redbeathe:twocents::redbeathe
That's a good idea, but my mail should be forwarding to me, which means it takes 7 extra days to actually get to me if it was sent there.
I looked at some old threads and there was a girl who didn't get hers last year. Her mail was messed up with her neighbor's and they wouldn't give it to her. She went up to the Campus a week after everyone else got theirs and they gave her the packet. I'm gonna wait to see what the Dean says, then maybe call Cheryl and see if she can tell me when I should worry.

All of this stuff is confusing the mess out of me. Everytime I read the order in which they want the stuff ::
#4 & #14...both say something about a photo
#5...would that be a copy of the form we need to fax to certifiedbackground.com
#6...what form would be the FDLE history record? I asked the rep when I made my appointment, and they said they don't give you a report, just a receipt.
#16 & #17...again I'm wondering the same thing about the completed background check. There also is not a way to submit the drug test with a negative result. You have to just submit your copy of the lab sheet. I guess they are telling you that your result BETTER be NEGATIVE!! lol
Karma624 :: There is nothing in particular that we have to ear to the first orientation on August 7th (lol; I thought it was the 6th a first). But we do have to wear our FCCJ polo w/ khakis to the 2nd orientation on August 25th
Tsayuga :: Yes, a week would be Wednesday. You have an awesome amount of points, so don't worry Sweetie. Besides, in my opinion you can get all of the stuff that needs to be submitted done in one or two days. It's just forking over all this cash that is bugging me.
All you need is the slip the woman gave you at the clinic. The results go straight to the nursing office. If the test shows positive on anything the lab calls you and as long as you have a script they mark you negative. I had to ask because I just had oral surgery on Thursday so I did'nt know if those drugs would show up and I called Tarolyn at the nursing office just to double check and she said that all she needs is the slip showing we went. She also said not to print out your actual background check from Certified background. She only wants the print out showing your confirmation of taking it because she gets the reults from them. In fact, she said that there is a lot of stuff on the sheet showing what we need to turn in by the 31st that is incorrect. We only need 1 picture (passport photo) and any stuff it says to turn in but we gave to others (like the FDLE sheet to the fingerprint guy) was a misprint. Just send in the USE authorization sheet, the Certified Background confirmation page, the drug screen copy given to you at the screening and then ofcourse all the medical stuff and other things that make sense on that list. Her number is 766-6648 if you have questions or need to double check.

OMG, yeah! I'm already sure that my cards are gonna be maxed! I'm trying to find stuff out through the forums as much as I can... I'm starting to feel excited though, the only thing wrong would be a mistake and mistakes can be fixed once proven.
