FCCJ Fall 2008

Published

Hello all! Just thought I'd start a thread for all of those folks that have submitted, or are getting ready to submit, their applications for FCCJ's Fall '08 term.

I will be submitting my application in a few weeks, when this Spring term ends. I have taken my NAT (twice), so I'm good to go there, but still need to get my CPR class done. I called several places & I'm waiting to hear back from them.

I look forward to chatting with & getting to know all of you, who will be doing the count-down with me... on getting our acceptance letters!!!

I know it helps to sound-board off each other & to lean on each other for support... especially with getting all the things done that we have to do!

Best of luck & success to all!!!

Specializes in none.

I went up to the clinic today to get my results on my titers and my TB checked. I only got two lab forms back. One of them looked like a receipt and the other had my results on it. It states on our little nursing "to do" list that there is a lab form for each test, but mine is all on one...Is this okay?? (I might just make copies and stick them in there..lol). I also got a negative result on my Hepatitis B test. I have anti-bodies to Hepatitis, but my test was inconclusive. So..I went ahead and a got a booster shot, but I still need positive results. Ughhhh..I guess I will be signing that Declination form after all. Anyways hope everyone is doing well!!!

Actually it states in the forms that as long as you have reciepts showing that you are getting the Hep B series of shots they will still let you in. You can do either, or......sign the declination or start your series of 3 shots to be completed by week 8 when we start clinicals. In our paperwork it says to be completed by Oct 13.

Okay I just counted. Even if you start your shots today it says final shot to be administered by 16-24 wks. Oct 13 only gives of 14wks starting today. So unless they say otherwise we might all be turning in the declination form.

Northside is walk-in. I went soon after it opened and there was virtually no wait. They were pretty quick and the woman at the front desk was so nice and patient with my never-ending questions. I have my fingerprinting this Thursday. A friend told me I could take my kids in a stroller because it's really quick. Is that true?

Kodiakgirl: Hey I doing my fingerprinting on thurs too. what time is ur appointment?

Tsayuga :: Yes, a week would be Wednesday. You have an awesome amount of points, so don't worry Sweetie. Besides, in my opinion you can get all of the stuff that needs to be submitted done in one or two days. It's just forking over all this cash that is bugging me.

OMG, yeah! I'm already sure that my cards are gonna be maxed! I'm trying to find stuff out through the forums as much as I can... I'm starting to feel excited though, the only thing wrong would be a mistake and mistakes can be fixed once proven.

(THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!)

Tsayuga not sure if you know or not but Northside is very affordable. I went today and paid 158 for everything, physical and all. And I agree with bossladii all you really need is a few days to get everything done.

Hope you can soon join the madness with us:yeah:

You guys are so awesome! I'm sure the madness will begin tomorrow or Wednesday.

I totally had to let you guys know.... the Dean of the Nursing Department called me to congratulate me on my acceptance into the program!! I was really afraid that they would be mad, but she said that she was glad someone called her (my Dean). She's gonna get my papers to me tomorrow at my work!

I'm so happy, I'm delerious!!!

:yeah: I am happy for you too!!!

Tsayuga, which dean do you know? I know one and was seeing if there was some type of connection...

Just to let you guys know, I think your second orientation is because you are gonna be set up with a buddy that is going into 4th term. There was something posted on the door where 1st termers and 3rd termers test about 3rd termers possibly becoming buddies with the incoming group. =) Lucky!

Well lucky for me I'm able to get my physical with my GYN. I'm not sure if they will include the titers or not. If not that's cool...I think they come to a little over $100. But with the background check, fingerprinting, drugtest, uniforms, polo shirt, khaki pants, shoes, stethoscope, BP cuff, etc...I've already been set back over $400. And more than likely books are going to be pretty pricey. :uhoh21:

I don't work. (Hubby does) I've been a full time student and home-maker...Had I known this ahead of time, we would have been eating Ramen noodles and lighting candles.
