Hello all! Just thought I'd start a thread for all of those folks that have submitted, or are getting ready to submit, their applications for FCCJ's Fall '08 term.
I will be submitting my application in a few weeks, when this Spring term ends. I have taken my NAT (twice), so I'm good to go there, but still need to get my CPR class done. I called several places & I'm waiting to hear back from them.
I look forward to chatting with & getting to know all of you, who will be doing the count-down with me... on getting our acceptance letters!!!
I know it helps to sound-board off each other & to lean on each other for support... especially with getting all the things done that we have to do!
Best of luck & success to all!!!
It's sad when you wake up and the first thing you do is go online to see if anyone got their letter. If anyone gets anything please let us know. I'm one of those that doesn't get their mail until later in the day. I hope today or tomorrow is our day.
lol...
that's why i'm logged on this early too!
I know, but I did called and guess what??? I was told by a nice girl, that letters will not be out until the end of the month. Reason is b/c they are changing some criterias to the progrma and they are running behind schedule. also I would like to note, that when I drop off my application, I was told by a student that they had a new nursing director. so that could be the reason for delay as well. so I guess I this point we need to be extremely patiece.....*winelet me get some nice wine to relaxxx
WOW!!! I really hope that nice girl, is wrong!!!! The end of the month??? How could they wait that long? Changing criteria to the program? How could they do that right now? We have all submitted our applications with the current criteria submitted on the application form. I wouldn't think they could just change it midstream. I'm still gonna hope for tomorrow. I mean the end of the month? 3 weeks before fall semester starts to let someone know if they made it into the program or not. Thats crazy and ridiculous might I add.
just a little tid-bit from someone who is in first term..they change things a lot and without warning....i know that a lot of people told me to be ready for a crazy amount of dis-organization....but nothing prepared me for how UNORGANIZED it is!
don't get me wrong...i'm so glad i got in...and I do love what I am learning...but if you are stressing over getting a letter go ahead and get your happy pills now for when class starts!
good luck though ladies and gents!! if you have any questions let me know....

Although I wouldn't put sending out the letters that late beyond them I don't think it's going to be that late and this is why.......... When you get accepted there is a list of things you have to get done before orientation including background check, physical, titers, immunizations if needed, uniform ordering, CPR if needed, drug testing, and probably something else I am forgetting... point is all that takes time. And then after orientation you have self study assignments for dosage calc and medical terminology. Once again that takes time. And most of that stuff isn't just for the program it's for the hospitals you will be doing clinicals in too so it needs to be done.
That being said we did have a change of director earlier in the semester and I believe they are accepting the first class for the RN-BSN program in the fall so it's that many more applications they have to go through. And the standard answer when you call is 8 weeks for letters and 8 weeks would be the end of this month.
