FCCJ Fall '09???

U.S.A. Florida

Published

Anyone else planning on applying to FCCJ's nursing program for Fall '09? I figured we might as well start a "support group" thread of sorts for those of us who are. Never too early to start, right?

Well, I guess I am out of the running and will see what I have to do to get myself more than 208 points. May have to move to Duval just so I can be in the priority county! I didn't receive anything in the mail again today so that is a harsh reality for me. Good Luck to all that got in and I will be seeing you all that didn't get in on the next discussion board! :)

I did not receive anything today either. I called and left a message on Thursday to let them know that I have yet to receive anything. Obviously, that didn't work.

My friend has 193 pts, lives in Duval county, and still has not heard anything either. So it may not be just you guys.

Thanks for your post....it gives me hope.

Well, I have been waiting around at home all day thinking that they may call like someone on here said they would if the school hadn't heard from those that were accepted. Not one phone calls today at all. I am already having official transcripts from my prior colleges sent to St Johns. Monday I plan to go enroll in their college and hopefully have everything done to apply to their program by the end of Sept. I am taking the Human Nutrition class right now to qualify. Only class I haven't had yet!!!

But if Misswhitney's friend in Duval hasn't gotten anything yet then maybe we do have hope, curlyq2. All I know is I have kind of given up on it with so late notice. Don't get me wrong, if it comes in the mail tomorrow it will be a great surprise but if it's the other then I am on my way to getting Plan B going. :)

I will be applying to St Johns with you! Hang in there

For Those who have been accepted I just purchased some white uniform pants from a store called The Uniform Store off on Beach Blvd. They have tons of them in White and different designs(slits,flare,etc.). I also purchased my Scope from Medisave. com! They also have other stuff we need far more cheaper than Meridys.

-Good Luck to all

This question is for someone who is already in the program:

What type of shoes did you buy I am looking at some Reebok Classics and The Reebok Princess......

I couldn't fit in the fall either because some ongoing classes. Does anybody know if the cut off for spring differs any compare to fall? I will have 204 for spring. And what time and where the fall orientation takes place?

szilist, each term has a different point spread and a different cut off, it depends on the applications they receive. how many apply, the point spread is usually lower in spring and fewer people apply. However, there are also fewer spots available so it is just as competitive.

I believe last springs orientation was late March early April. Its usually a few weeks before classes start.

Hope this helps and good luck.

Has anyone contacted worksource? Does anyone know if it is based on income?

I have contacted worksource and am attending one of their orientation sessions this week. You can qualify based on income so I am going to see if I can because I do not qualify for pell grant. Just contact one of the offices listed in the acceptance packet and they can tell you when the orientation sessions are and sign you up.

Also, it is *your* income not household. (ie: if you don't work but hubby does.... :D )
