Fastest state to apply for NCLEX

World Immigration

Hi guys I need your help. Before, i planned to submit my application to California (I even asked you if you have extra Fingerprinting card) for my NCLEX but after viewing some of the posts here, I would say that it changed my mind.

Do you have any idea which states has the fastest application process (receiving eligibility and ATT) and the fastest to release the result? Pls, give me at least 5 states which have at least 2-4 months application process.

I still really want to work in cali bcoz most of my friends and relatives live there. May i just know how long does endorsement (from the state where I have my license to cali) take?

Thank you so much. :wink2:

OK, for those needing Visascan, that's a problem that seems like it cannot be overcome. But if you don't need the visa, for example if you have fiancee visa or family petition, I think there is a path that is worth pursuing. My research says some/many State BONs don't care about the NLE or the Local Philippine License. What I cannot get any concrete statement about is the CES from CGFNS. My opinion is it's no different from those that never took the NLE. Since I cannot get definitive advice, it seems the only way is apply for the CES to CGFNS and find out if they can complete the CES without confirmation from PRC. Of course we will mention in the application NLE taken and results pending. This is why I keep asking to hear if any 0606 passer has applied for CES...and what was the result? I think not many applied, eh?

No one has received the CES that took the NLE exam and did not apply for it beforehand. If the exam was never written, then there is no issue. But since an exam was written, and the results cannot be verified, then there is no report being given out.

Same goes for the CVS report, the PRC will be unable to verify that the nurse passed the exam, and it will hold up everything.

hey mike, My friend will apply in New York. She needs the CVS from CGFNS. If CVS's requirements are the same with CES I will tell you about it ok.

CVS requirements are stricter than the CES, and they are different toi start with. CES is a credentials verification of your actual schooling with a breakdonw of your courses.

The CVS verifies that if you took an exam, there is a license issued, that there are verifiable transcripts. Etc.

One is not even interchangeable with the other, if not working in NY, the CVS will not be valid for any other state. And the CES is not valid for NY.

If your talking about the June 2006; applicants who took the June 2006 need to disclose that they took it and they cannot say that results are pending because technically there is a result already but no license can be verified. By saying that results are pending would mean possible fraud since it's well known in the world already that there is a result and a list of the passers are published in the PRC website and other local newspaper's website. The popular local review centers, likewise, publish the students names on their website that took their review w/ them and passed.

This is just FYI. :wink2:

ohhh gosh, let's be careful with such harsh legal terms (fraud). filling up a form and answering it correctly/honestly to the best of your ability does not constitute fraud. an example of fraud would be claiming your pet turtle named henry as a dependant on your income taxes in an attempt to fraud the government out of taxes due. hehe.

below are copies from the cgfns ces handbook for paragraph 13 of the ces application, dealing with the registration/license. it is not fraud to answer (see item 13 d) with the truth: to wit - the nle was taken but the license has not been issued by the regulatory authority and is pending in the philippine courts. if anyone cares to read the handbook in its entirety it can be found here --

by the way, what i think cgfns is most interested in is the case where a license has been revoked and/or suspended (and why).

well, anyway, here we are again, just trying to demystify this whole process, which i find is best done by educating oneself in the subject and then applying the acquired knowledge to remove barriers to success, ever remembering that faith overcomes fear...[quote=lawrence01]if your talking about the june 2006; applicants who took the june 2006 need to disclose that they took it and they cannot say that results are pending because technically there is a result already but no license can be verified. by saying that results are pending would mean possible fraud since it's well known in the world already that there is a result and a list of the passers are published in the prc website and other local newspaper's website. the popular local review centers, likewise, publish the students names on their website that took their review w/ them and passed.

the licences too are already being processed, those who registered early, like in manila got their licenses right away and went abroad to pursue their careers. gud for them, other will still have to wait. the only thing holding the licenses is the TRO, once it expires then the licenses will most likely be given for those whose names are already registered. The PRC is never up for a retake, the only one making such a huge fuss over this issue is that one school (no offense to that school) filed a case for it since their passing is low for them and maybe if there wud be a retake then they can redeem themselves...

Well.. if they're already abroad then they are surely using the tourist visa and w/ retrogression looming in plus the 60-90 day rule before a lawyer can file a petition plus the lag in finding an employer to petition for them and no visa screen certificate yet either (because this will take a few months to complete - even if ICHP will honor the licenses) I would say majority of them will be back home.

Before the NLE issue there are already employers that scrutinize Filipinos regarding honoring contracts and w/ the advent of this current issue more employers will have 2nd thoughts on petitioning someone. Sure, some are still willing but w/ extreme scrutiny and some may end up w/ bad agencies/employers and with bad contracts because of their desperation.

I'm not scaring anyone. Just stating facts. Hope no one takes this badly. :wink2:

Sorry, but you must have misunderstood me. Nothing wrong w/ aswering w/ the best of your abilities and as truthfully as you can but applicants also have the responsibility to answer as accurate as we can too. I just replied base on what you said: "Took NLE but results still pending". Technically there are results since there were passers and non-passers.

If we will be stating "Took NLE and passed but awaiting license pending court rulings" then definitely no problems. It will then be up to the diff. State BON/BRNs to decide what to do next.

Regarding the question whether or not CGFNS/ICHP (Certification/CES/VSC) will have problems regarding the non-issuance of the license affected by the TRO I think it would be best to e-mail them or better yet call them up before submitting anything. This will save you the time, effort and the fees if they will answer what you don't want to hear. If they say no problems, then no problems.

If we are only discussing about "fast processing", I have heard so many times that NM and VT BON process things quickly. But, if you would be working in CA, then you'd also need to apply for Licensure By Endorsement eventually. I am not sure if the endorsement process in CA is quick---because if it is not, then it defeats the purpose of applying to get your initial license in another State---because you'd have to wait for a long time too to get your license endorsed.

I am aiming to be licensed in CA. However, since it takes too long to get ATT, is it wise to apply to New Mexico, then endorse to California after, assuming I pass the NCLEX?

Well, all I can say for sure is they (CGFNS) don't take phone calls and email is limited to 500 characters and then only during their business hours M-F 9 to 4:30 East Coast time except friday 4pm coz their computer needs to rest then. The result of sending them email was a terse reply to apply for the CES and see what happens. Which is what I have been suggesting for some days now...

Hello everyone,

I just want to share the questions that you have to answer if you apply Licensure by examination in New Mexico that pertains to any license or exam.

1. Have you at any other time applied for or held a RN/LPN license in NM?

2. DSICIPLINARY: The following questions require a Yes or No answer:

a. Has disciplinary action ever been taken against your nursing license?

if yes: denied, revoked, suspended, probation, reprimand, others

b. Is disciplinary action pending against a nursing license in another state?

c. Have you ever been charged with or convicted of a felony whether or not sentence was imposed or suspended?

I answered NO to all the disciplinary questions. I don't think I am committing any fraud haha. I answered it honestly since we don't have any licenses yet. and I don't think the TRO is considered as disciplinary action especially if its against the passers as a group. Anyway I asked the board about it and they said that NO should be the answer since technically I don't have a license yet and whats happening right now is not considered a disciplinary thing.

Regarding the VIsa screen or any CGFNS application, of course I have to wait for my license before I apply that. Anyway there is a retrogression, I am in no hurry to apply that. Just want to take my Nclex soon.

Good day. :p

california will endorse in one day, if they have verification on file form the originating state, or that state participates in nursys. ca will issue you a temporary license, they cannot issue you a permanent one until you give them a ssn#.

wanting to work in ca is about the only time that i recommend pursuing a license in another state first, especially since you will need to wait about one month to get your nclex results.
