Fastest state to apply for NCLEX

World Immigration

Published

Hi guys I need your help. Before, i planned to submit my application to California (I even asked you if you have extra Fingerprinting card) for my NCLEX but after viewing some of the posts here, I would say that it changed my mind.

Do you have any idea which states has the fastest application process (receiving eligibility and ATT) and the fastest to release the result? Pls, give me at least 5 states which have at least 2-4 months application process.

I still really want to work in cali bcoz most of my friends and relatives live there. May i just know how long does endorsement (from the state where I have my license to cali) take?

Thank you so much. :wink2:

if you do apply to nm, your point of entry is nm right? its in the application from that you legal residence would be in nm. so does that mean that you might work there for I don't know how long, depends on your employer before you can endorse?

hello everyone,

we are all aware there's an issue here right now in the philippines. our licenses and oath taking are under tro. i decided to apply in new mexico because i want to take my nclex already, why because:

1. no license = no work. so what else can i do but just study for my nclex. and we don't know how much longer this issue will take.

2. i just want to take my nclex so i don't have to worry about it anymore and besides like i said, this is my only free time to study. new mexico accepts licensure applicants who are not licensed from their country.

3. after nclex, well if i do pass, i want to concentrate getting my work experience here. i do plan to work here first. i don't want to go abroad without any work experience.

4. yes i am aware of the retrogression. i am not trying to speed up my immigration. i just want to take my nclex already. all will fall in place in due time.

5. if i do want to apply in states that need ces or cvs. prc won't be able to comply with the requirements of cgfns because of the issue right now.

6. i have relatives in new jersey, california, florida and one of my relatives will live in new mexico because of his job. so yes, i can work in new mexico too.

for the others:

of course i am also aware that its better to apply to the state you really want since at the end of the day, you would want to end up working there. your relatives and friends will be there to help you adjust. it will probably save some money for the others. and save time too if the endorsement process will take longer.

if you will endorse later, bear in mind it means extra money too. the length of endorsement varies from one state to the other since you have to fulfill the requirements of the state you intend to endorse to. if you plan to endorse from new mexico it can speed things up or cause delay, it really depends on the state where you want to endorse.

now as for me, i don’t want to wait for the court of appeal's decision regarding the issue. if there’s a retake then i will take it, it’s not as if i have a choice. if there’s no retake then we can all get our licenses. anyway, i want to take my nclex around january or february and work afterwards.

these are my reasons for applying in new mexico. if it's lousy well i guess i am lousy haha. all i know is that people have different priorities right now and my priority right now is to take my nclex. call me stubborn but that's just me haha :p

Sorry, but New Mexico is not point of entry, it will be either LAX or SFO, more than likely. There are no non-stop flights from SE Asis to there. And your legal residence will only be there if you rent an apt there and stay. You do not have to work there to begin with. If you are filling out the application for there, you do not have a legal residence in the US at this time, not even an employer, and no address for there, so no legal residence in the state of New Mexico.

Please make sure that you do things legally. If you do not already have a residence there when you are completing documents, then you do not have a legal residence there, you do not have a SSN# either.

even if nm does decide to let you test, you will have to deal with cgfns for the visa screen certificate, and that is where you bigger problem comes in. you also must list on your applicvation to nm that you took the exam, you cannot leave that off.

not necessary. I took and passed NCLEX with NY and straight away endorsed to AZ and never set foot in the country to work

hello again,

thank you for warning me suzanne. of course i will tell nm i took my local boards here so i don't see any problem in that. my friends, june 2006 board passers too, have their att’s now. like i said, for now the court of appeals will decide on what to do with our local licenses and oath taking. if there is no retake, we will finally have our licenses, then all is good, we won't have any problems with the cgfns. if there’s a retake, then i will take it again, hence i don't see any problem whatsoever. either way, cgfns will process my paper because i am doing everything legally.

have a nice day. :roll

hi bonsai... you mentioned that your friends, who are june 2006 nle passers, now have their eligibility to test from nm bon. did they process the application by themselves, or did a review center or agency help them? my friends are also considering taking that route. please enlighten me on how long it took them. also, is it possible to endorse to any other state once you are licensed in nm? thanks...

The big point thaty all of you are failing to realize is that CGFNS will not and cannot issue a Visa Screen Certificate until this matter is settled. You took and exam, and there is no license issued or verificastion that you took the exam available to CGFNS from the PRC. To make any changes to their rules that they follow, it takes months if not even years, last big change that I saw took more than two years................and they must get approval from the US government as well. Remember that they are under contract to provide a service for the US Federal Government.

There has never been an issue with nurses getting the ATT after taking the NLE exam, the thing that you are leavign off is that they applied before the exam, and not after. Big difference. They had not taken the exam when the application was submitted, so no reason to put anything on the application.

Endorsement is up to each individual state to make, they do it on an individual basis.

And right now, fastest state means absolutely nothing, you forget that there will be a retorgression coming in the next few weeks, and all of you will be invloved in it, if you do not already have a date scheduled for your interview at the US Embassy in Manila.

and you never apply for nclex, you apply to a state for licensure. the nclex-rn exam is only one step in the process, and definitely not the only one.

you must get approval from a state before you will be permitted to even sit for it.

OK, for those needing Visascan, that's a problem that seems like it cannot be overcome. But if you don't need the visa, for example if you have fiancee visa or family petition, I think there is a path that is worth pursuing. My research says some/many State BONs don't care about the NLE or the Local Philippine License. What I cannot get any concrete statement about is the CES from CGFNS. My opinion is it's no different from those that never took the NLE. Since I cannot get definitive advice, it seems the only way is apply for the CES to CGFNS and find out if they can complete the CES without confirmation from PRC. Of course we will mention in the application NLE taken and results pending. This is why I keep asking to hear if any 0606 passer has applied for CES...and what was the result? I think not many applied, eh?

it's easy to apply in new mexico hehe. you don't need any agency or review centers for that. so i think they did it themselves. it took them 2 weeks to 1 month from the time they sent their applications to new mexico and to the time they received their att. it is possible to endorse because new mexico will give you your hard license if you pass the nclex even if you don't have your ss number.

and if you're friends are june 2006 board passers like me, make sure they apply their visa screen after the issue here has been taken care of so we won't have any problem whatsoever.

have a nice and fruitful day.

hey mike, My friend will apply in New York. She needs the CVS from CGFNS. If CVS's requirements are the same with CES I will tell you about it ok.
