I have seen many people posting lately that they will be applying for Fall 2009 admission. I thought it might be cool to post where everyone is planning on applying so we can support each other and maybe get to know who we might be going to school with or at least get to know our competition I have always thought it was really nice to see all of the support people get here on this site. :redbeathe
I am looking at applying to TCU, Baylor, Kaiser, Northeastern, Old Dominion, and Medical University of South Carolina. I don't know if I will apply to all of them or not. Does anyone have any input on applying to this many schools or should I narrow it down? Wish me luck!!!
I applied to University of TN in Memphis, TN for July 2009 start date. I just mailed the packet today. If I do not get accepted there, I plan to apply to Union University in Jackson, TN and/or Arkansas State University for Jan 2010 start date. I hope everyone has great results and wish you all the best! I am really excited about this! TC
i picked 5 that would be a good fit for me...texas wesleyan, tcu, newman, bryanlgh, and mount marty. just finished sending in all of the stuff this week. hurry up and wait!!
3.7 gpa, 1050 gre, working as a flight nurse (great experience for lots of autonomy and advanced skills...if you have the chance, you really should try it!!) for two years now after time in the icu and ed. any other fn's working on applying?
cheers and best of luck to all of us!!
I'm applying to OHSU(Portland OR), Samuel Merritt in San Fran, and Westminster (Salt Lake City). Deadlines arn't till the end of the year so havn't sent my stuff in yet.
I'm a bit nervous as my GPA wasn't the highest (weirdly enough it dropped after I turned 21....) From your experience, what do you think of my resume/stats??
Cum GPA of 3.18. Science GPA of 3.5
includes 3 semesters of Chem (inorganic, organic, biochem)B,A-,B+
Havn't taken GRE yet- (in about 3 weeks)- should be able to get b/w an 1100-1200.
5 years ICU experience (by Fall 2009).
2 years MICU- large well known University teaching hospital
2.5 Years Float pool RN. NSICU, TSICU, CICU, MICU- in a level one trauma hospital. (agency Rn also in all ICU's including inner city chicago SICU's)
5 months volunteering in small Ecuadorian hospital (not ICU- all areas)
Surgical trips to Haiti
Certs
CCRN (have to take it still)
TNCC
ACLS
PALS
Is my GPA going to screw me? Does anyone have any thoughts or advice? I'm not sure if I'm more nervous than I should be. Does it look bad if I've moved around abit and worked in quite a few hospitals? (not b/c I was fired- but just b/c I like adventure and new places)
Thanks! I know I added a bit more than was asked for in the original post... sorry!
From looking at your stats, I think your gonna get in easily...I would guess...unfortunately, I can't speak through experience yet. I think your gpa of 3.18 with your experience doesn't count you out. That is without the 3.5 gpa science. I think your science gpa will count more. Also, you have to take in consideration (and I am sure the adcoms do) that you have taken harder classes ie..organic chemistry and biochemistry. It is alot easier to have a 3.8 gpa if you don't take any hard classes. It is great to have it, but I am sure you will have no problem getting in. Do good in your interview and try to make atleast a 1000 on the GRE and I couldn't imagine you having a problem. Good luck!
Congrats to all those who have landed interviews, and to those who have applied and anxiously await the good news!
Has anyone here had their interview yet?
If so, how did it go? We are all pulling for you! (Coast to coast group hug.)
I have to wait until Sept/Oct and it's making me crazy. I'd love to hear what others are doing.
During my PALS class last week, I'd met an SRNA getting ready for clinical this Fall. I was so envious! I know school is going to be challenging, however, this wait is absolutely killing me ...
Is it just me? Or have the days gone by much slower since your applications have been turned in?

I have applied to University of South Carolina, Western Carolina University and Samford University. I have interviews for them and I'm starting to get a little nervous because the first one is in a little over a week.
