Fall 2011 Western University of Health Sciences MSN-E

Published

Anyone applying to WesternU's MSN-E program? If so, do you know when they will start the interview process? What they look for in their applicants (gpa, extracurricular, etc)?

Current students--What were your stats like?

Any information would be helpful =)

Thanks in advance!

Hi guys! I have been reading all the posts in this forum since day 1. Congratulations to everybody who got accepted! And to those who are waiting for results: a lot of students end up going to another school because of the cost so there will be a significant number of people that will be coming from the alternate list.

Anyway, I got accepted to Western U and Cal State Los Angeles. I would like to make an informed decision. Do you guys know which program is better? For those of you who did get accepted to both, which one are you accepting and why? Pls help! I might be one of those who will actually deny my western u offer letter!

Not to hijack this as it is a Western thread, but since this was asked I wanted to share my experience. Regarding APU I got a phone call yesterday notifying me of my denial for Fall 2011 @ the Azusa location. However, the counselor set up an interview/counseling session with me next week so that I can go over my app. and decide whether or not I want it to be forwarded for the Fall 2012 cycle @ Azusa or the Spring 2012 cycle for either the San Diego or San Bernardino cohort. She said that there was no waitlist and that my application will be forwarded to be looked at all over again for either acceptance or denial. I'm confused though I have read on here that there is a waitlist and when I emailed a counselor in Nov. he said I would have to reapply all over again if denied or not waitlisted. Can anyone clarify?

I don't know, it seems confusing, you have been given different answers, I never asked them about the waitinglist so I don't know. I called yesterday and they said that starting today (march 15), the will re-review applications and results will be in sometime in April. Maybe, that is why they scheduled you for another interview/counsling session, to have your application reviewed again. I never heard anything about a waitinglist for APU though.

Hello, just to add to the info regarding APU denials, I was denied via letter in the mail sometime in mid-January. I believe my denial was b/c I had yet to complete my 12 units of sciences, which I am currently completing at the moment (physio.), and anatomy was taken last fall semester so they had very little to go by in terms of my prereq. grades.

I was wondering if you called to set up the interview/counseling session b/c I am looking to apply to the SD campus this coming July as well (that is, if I do not get any word back from Western). I was also told by a counselor Jay Kenton that we have to reapply all over again, which means that rec. letters and all other application materials need to be resubmitted. Hm, now I'm confused too! :uhoh3:

SummerSlippers: You really need to look at both programs before deciding. If you like the learning style at Western then go there, if you don't like a distance learning program then maybe it's not for you. I think you should do a side by side and compare the pros and cons of each one and go with the one that has more pros.

Also, you know the hospitals that partner with Western, do you know the ones that partner with Cal state? Maybe they partner with one you really want to work at or one that you really don't. Do they have a tuition reimbursement plan? Will you have to move for either program? Questions like this can help you make the best decision for you

No news on my end....the anticipation is killing me.

nothing here on my end

Nothing here either!

still nothing....
