Fall 2016 Wake Tech Applicants

Published

Hey Everyone,

I'm not new to this site, just new to actually joining and posting my own story since I myself am finally able to began the application process of applying to Wake Tech next Fall. Anyone else out there applying?

Yea that would be an hour out of my way everyday, and I don't think I have enough time to apply to the school/send transcripts in time. Thanks for that though. It's just disappointing not to get in.

Oh no! Do you think you'll apply in the spring? Did you apply anywhere else?

I was 136. I had emailed the nursing director at Vance Granville and she said I'd be competitive. They do their points a little different so I'm hopeful I'll still have a place for Nursing School in the fall

congrats to those that got in! I was an alternate last semester and ended up moving up quite a few spots- so stay hopeful!

I'm an alternate, but it says I won't know my alternate position until the information session on the 15th. So now I have to wait for that, and in the mean time pay for a background check and stuff. I'm only shy 6 points, so hopefully I'm not too far down the list and I can be selected quickly. If not, I still have my other program. I just won't hear from that until May. I knew I would be an alternate, it just still sucks.

APeregoy, don't lose hope! I have so many friends who did nursing at WTCC and a lot of them started on the alternate list. I am sure you will probably get in, but I can understand, it's disappointing. I know WTCC is your first choice, do you think you'll apply again in the spring if things don't work out? Praying that they do!!

APeregoy, I remember you saying that you did your ADN information session online. Do you remember when you did it?

If I don't get into wtcc for fall but I get into another program, I won't apply for spring at wtcc. I just want to be a nurse as soon as possible. I wouldn't mind transferring to wtcc if they would let me start second semester first year instead of from the beginning, but idk if they do that. I did the online info session between October and December sometime.

Lindycelina what number alternate were you, and did you end up getting accepted?

I was really far down, #48 I think. I moved up to about 27! So top 20 seems pretty much a sure thing to me. Especially in the fall when more people apply to the JC as a backup to the UNC's!

1)lindycelina You where 48 and moved up a lot, do you remember how many points you had vs the starting alternate points?

2)Leahearman14 when you said you are 136 is that your WTCC points or Vance Granville points?

thanks!

Starting points were 173 and I only had 131. The semester I applied they said they invited everyone that applied that didn't get in as alternates because they had the smallest amount of people apply then they had ever had or something. My friend there with me was number #59 or something, I don't think they usually have that many alternates!
