I am a ut houston hopeful applying for the pacesetter and traditional programs for fall 2011! I will be done with my pre-req's: engl 1302 and hist 1302 this spring 2011. I plan on taking the hesi the beginning of December since the deadline for ut-houston has been changed to Jan 15. 2011. I wish everybody good luck as were getting down to the wire!!1 Anyone else out there?
Prenursing9892 I keep waiting on that evaluation... I have one from a year ago when I applied first but for personal reasons did not finish the whole application process... um I was looking at it and they didn't add one of my courses in which I made a B so I'm concerned my gpa is going to drop.
If anyone needs CPR certification (my UTlink shows a CPR hold), you can get certified for free through the Junior League of Houston. It looks like they offer Healthcare Provider CPR about once a month, and I just signed up for the March 2 class at St. Luke's Methodist. Maybe I'll see one of you there?

ialanis: Seriously, don't get discouraged! I think they're just overwhelmed by the amount of applications and documents they have to sort through...they are very diligent so I'm sure that they're working on your evaluation as we speak (and they are also very, very nice - so don't hesitate to call or e-mail. I've always got a quick response by e-mailing [email protected], so if you have ANY questions, shoot an e-mail to that e-mail ad.)
rocket surgery: thank you so much for that link! I was wondering when they were going to offer the BLS Healthcare Provider CPR course, and thanks to you now I know when!
Carrien86-
We have similar GPAs. My nursing prereqs is a 3.45 and a science gpa of 3.0 and an overall of 2.75. My Hesi was a 91.97% and critical thinking 890. I've been feeling inferior with everyone else posting such perfect 4.0 GPAs all the time on here, nice to know other people haven't always been perfect.
I know my Hesi score is alright and my critical thinking is pretty good but I'm still worried that my GPAs and past college course work mistakes will hurt my chances.
So here's to us having a shot at our dreams!
Let me know if you get an interview letter-then I will have hope too!
@rocket surgery: thnx so much for putting the info about CPR training! i need to do that ASAP. does anyone know where i can take CNA training classes? i still have to do that too.....
Houston Community College offers a 6 week CNA course.
That's my status too. My best guess is it means that they've received all the required application materials and now you have to just wait for the admission committee to make a decision. The next status will be something along the lines of "full admission granted," "provisional admission granted," or "not admitted."
