Hey everyone! I applied to UT houston and I'm waiting to hear if I got an interview. Applicants for years in the past started threads that everyone went to and kept everyone updated on information from the school, and it's nice to hear from possible (fingers crossed) other future classmates. If you don't mind, I'd also like to post our application info: GPA (science and overall), NET scores and experience.
My stats:
Overall GPA: 3.93
Science GPA: 3.75 (I think- UT link is down today :wink2:
NET: composite score was 88% (96 percentile)
I'm currently employed as a CNA in a hospital (only have about a month experience so far)
OK I'm SUPER excited....! ...I think...so I checked my UT-link status today for the BSN-Accelerated prgm., not expecting it to be updated yet, and it read "You have been granted provisional admission. Admission letter in the mail." What the holy hell does 'provisional' mean? I actually looked it up and it means temporary or conditional. So I called a BSN counciler to ask them wondering if that meant I was like on a wait-list or something and she really couldn't give me an answer, all she said was to wait for the letter in the mail for the details.....what do ya'll think do you think it means i was accepted????!!! Please please please!!!!!! :heartbeat
provisional acceptance means thats its contingent upon something. like if you turn in all the required documents, or if you need to take another class before the fall starts. its like that. as long as you complete what is needed. then you are accepted.
I was accepted "provisionally" as well!!!!! I just read it and I am so so so excited! The provisionally is freaking me out! It HAS to mean that we just need to make sure that our course work is done and background check and all that!!! Right, right? I want to call everyone but I am scared that if I do and then find out otherwise I will freak out. Well-for now I am happy-congrats to all you as well-I am so looking forward to meeting all of you and starting this awesome journey

hnhoang---hand in there! They may be posting new ones or they could do rolling admissions...just wait a bit!!! I will give you my stats. I just need to get them all in front of me (where did I put my NET scores ?)
Oh My Gosh! I got in too! When you all got your updates yesterday, I didn't, and thought I hadn't made it. I had all night to come to terms with it, and then this morning when I checked one last time, I was accepted!
What I don't understand is that it says provisional acceptance to both summer and fall. So does that mean I got in to the Accelerated?
Here are my stats:
Nursing pre-req GPA: 3.941
Nursing Science GPA: 4.0
Took majority of my pre-reqs at Lonestar; my previous degrees are from Kent State and Sam Houston State
NET composite: 91%
NET math: 100%
NET reading: 82%

on the NET reading which reading part are u talking about because there was like three or four various reading parts. Are you guys talking about Science Reading Comprehension
Congratulations to all of you who made it into the accelerated program! It doesn't look like anyone has found out yet about the generic program- may still take anywhere from a few days to a week or more for us (I hope not)... Still crossing my fingers.....
Oh- and Java Gabby, please accept summer so that leaves one more possible slot for me for the fall :) Just teasing!!!
Se7en14 - If I remember correctly, I'm pretty sure that we did interview together. You went to A&M and were wearing a maroon shirt on the day of the interview, right? I was sitting at the table next to you. I'm also an Aggie!
