Hey everyone! I applied to UT houston and I'm waiting to hear if I got an interview. Applicants for years in the past started threads that everyone went to and kept everyone updated on information from the school, and it's nice to hear from possible (fingers crossed) other future classmates. If you don't mind, I'd also like to post our application info: GPA (science and overall), NET scores and experience.
My stats:
Overall GPA: 3.93
Science GPA: 3.75 (I think- UT link is down today :wink2:
NET: composite score was 88% (96 percentile)
I'm currently employed as a CNA in a hospital (only have about a month experience so far)
OK I'm SUPER excited....! ...I think...so I checked my UT-link status today for the BSN-Accelerated prgm., not expecting it to be updated yet, and it read "You have been granted provisional admission. Admission letter in the mail." What the holy hell does 'provisional' mean? I actually looked it up and it means temporary or conditional. So I called a BSN counciler to ask them wondering if that meant I was like on a wait-list or something and she really couldn't give me an answer, all she said was to wait for the letter in the mail for the details.....what do ya'll think do you think it means i was accepted????!!! Please please please!!!!!! :heartbeat
I'm pretty sure you were accepted! I knew someone that got into ut nursing school last year and her ut link status said she was accepted 2 weeks before she actually got her acceptance letter! So.... yay!!! I'm happy for you!!
Well hell yah!!!!! Whooop I'm so freaking estatic....I just got a letter back from Texas A&M HSC BSN Accel Prgm saying that I had been wait-listed and I wouldn't find out until April'ish if I got accepted or not....so this definitely makes up for it!!!! Yeah, I wanna go out and celebrate tonight now...but I need to know for sure with that damn letter in my hands damnit!!!! Thanks though!!!!1
provisional means that you are accepted!!! congratulations! but that there are just a few last minute things that needs to be done (i.e. prereqs you're still taking, criminal background check, cpr, final transcript to make sure you're passing classes, everything else they need you to do, etc. etc.)

Congrats se7en14! After reading your post, I checked my UT Link...and mine is also updated saying the exact same thing as yours!! Yah!!! I'm really hoping that this indefinitely means that we are accepted : ) Good luck to all!
Se7en, I know you interviewed earlier than me. Maybe either of us interviewed with shihtzu? haha, its like a game to see how much you can remember! Congrats, keep me posted on when you guys get letters in the mail (please). I'm out of town until Sunday so I can't check my mail even if it does come! I'm just relying on the UTlink to be correct (and if not, I've already told too many people anyways haha)
For those who just got accepted, please re-post your stats if you don't mind. This will be help those unfortunate ones (possibly me) to try to figure out where we went wrong and it will also help those who land on this thread in the future to get a feel of what it takes to get in. Please follow this format:
1. Generic/Accelerated BSN Program
2. Nursing Prereq. GPA
3. Nursing Science GPA
4. Where you took the majority of your prereqs.
5. NET Composite
6. NET Math
7. NET Reading

I was accepted "provisionally" as well!!!!! I just read it and I am so so so excited! The provisionally is freaking me out! It HAS to mean that we just need to make sure that our course work is done and background check and all that!!! Right, right? I want to call everyone but I am scared that if I do and then find out otherwise I will freak out. Well-for now I am happy-congrats to all you as well-I am so looking forward to meeting all of you and starting this awesome journey
