Fall 2009 UT Houston BSN Applicants

Published

Hey everyone! I applied to UT houston and I'm waiting to hear if I got an interview. Applicants for years in the past started threads that everyone went to and kept everyone updated on information from the school, and it's nice to hear from possible (fingers crossed) other future classmates. If you don't mind, I'd also like to post our application info: GPA (science and overall), NET scores and experience.

My stats:

Overall GPA: 3.93

Science GPA: 3.75 (I think- UT link is down today :wink2:

NET: composite score was 88% (96 percentile)

I'm currently employed as a CNA in a hospital (only have about a month experience so far)

Goodluck and hopefully I get some replies!

Whooooohoooooo!!! I have been granted provisional acceptance to the generic program!!!!!!!!!!! I am so excited!!! I was running around the house screaming and scared my two year old!! Congrats to all who got in!!!

Also, for any of you who haven't gotten your vaccines, I found an inexpensive place to get them done. It's on the west side.

Does anyone still have to get their CPR card? Mine is very expired!!

Re: Fall 2009 UT Houston BSN Applicants dpjen07, your net scores are fantastic! do you remember what the percentile your composite falls under. my composite is a 90 and that was already a 98 percentile so i was just wondering what yours could be--a 99 percentile? possibly a 100 percentile? lol, but wow that's an awesome net reading.

Thanks! Thats a great score as well! Mine was a 99 percentile.

rachelerin, do you think we should wait for the official letter before doing all that. lol, i'm sure there will be specific instructions as to what is required of us. i still don't know what i need to do.

and rachelerin, i know who you are. lol, sound scary? but we sat the same table during the interview. i wasn't the girl next to you but i was the girl across from you with the weird guy.

Kudos to you all who have already been notified through UTLink of their provisional admission! You deserve it as the process has been a rigorous one! I applied to the Bacc2, but I haven't gotten any word from UTLink yet. Is the selection process over, or are they still filling up the spots? I tried calling the SON but the number was just receiving messages. To those who already got admitted, when were you interviewed? I was interviewed in the first week they started interviewing.

Waiting for your reply. thanks.

I had an interview on March 18th and found out about it today..... Im sure they are still accepting candidates. Since today is Saturday, I'm sure utlink will have another update on Monday which is regular buisness

One question.... Where would I pick up a copy of my immunization records?

thanks supertran and good luck! i'm still hoping they haven't filled out all the spots yet. Have you heard any info about how many will they be taking in for fall 2009 for both Bacc2 and generic? as for immunization, you pediatrician (back then) should have your records. i just did my Hepa B recently from the health center.

I've heard for Generic, there are 80 spots. I thought 120 at first, but since they are doing a Spring program as well, they dropped the number of spots to 80. Not sure about the accelerated program though.

and rachelerin, i know who you are. lol, sound scary? but we sat the same table during the interview. i wasn't the girl next to you but i was the girl across from you with the weird guy.

Haha...that is creepy!! Just kidding, I remember you!! And I think the provisions are what are on the holds page, and passing your current classes, of course!!

On the SON website it says

2. Provisional Admission - This category applies to students whose applications show that they fall below the full admission requirements. Each student is reviewed on an individual basis. Provisional admission may be granted at the discretion of the Baccalaureate Degree Council only for the following:

A deficiency of one (1) or two (2) prerequisite course(s) in history, government or electives. All other courses must be completed prior to admission.

In order to be removed from provisional admission, the student must complete all outstanding prerequisites with a minimum grade of "C" by the official reporting day of the first term. Failure to achieve full admission status during the specified time period will result in being blocked from progressing in course work until the prerequisite course(s) is/are complete.
