Hey everyone! I applied to UT houston and I'm waiting to hear if I got an interview. Applicants for years in the past started threads that everyone went to and kept everyone updated on information from the school, and it's nice to hear from possible (fingers crossed) other future classmates. If you don't mind, I'd also like to post our application info: GPA (science and overall), NET scores and experience.
My stats:
Overall GPA: 3.93
Science GPA: 3.75 (I think- UT link is down today :wink2:
NET: composite score was 88% (96 percentile)
I'm currently employed as a CNA in a hospital (only have about a month experience so far)
Goodluck and hopefully I get some replies!

Congratulations Cailex on your admission! I joined this blod just today. When were you interviewed? I was interviewed during the last week of January, but I haven't gotten any word on UTLink yet. I applied to Bacc2 like you. I'm hoping that the selection process is still underway. I tried to call SON but the phones were receiving messages only.
Thanks.
I checked my UTlink this morning and I got into the generic program too! I was so excited! For the person that asked for stats for admitted people, my nursing pre-req GPA was 3.62, science pre-req GPA 4.0, pre-req classes taken at HCC, NET composite score of 88 (don't have them in front of me, but math was just above that and reading just below that).
Also, I found the definition of provisional admission on one of the previous pages quite interesting. Mine said provisional admission--admission letter in the mail like everyone else's, but I don't meet the provisional definition as stated above because I'm still taking A&P II this semester, as well as statistics and an art credit. Strange. I hope that wasn't some kind of oversight that they'll catch later!
Im guessing what provisional means is that your accepted into the program as long as you FINISH all courses by the time you physically start class. So if you have some summer classes to take, just make sure you make a C and send them transcripts. Then you just have to make sure all Holds are taken care of. In my case I still need the Human Development class and a Human Anat course which I will take this summer.
I don't live north of Houston (I'm in the west area near Sugarland) but I wanted to advise you not to avoid the bus. I've noticed that everyone in this city avoids public transportation like the plague unless they have no other options, but I used to park at the Wespark Park and Ride and take the bus into work near the Medical Center, and on weekday mornings around 7 AM its full of people in business suits and scrubs, there's no one scary (as many people seem to assume!). Good luck on finding a viable transportation option!
