Hi all!
Thought I would start a thread for the fall semester! Anyone who wants to share their stats or anything about the application process can post them here! My stats as of now...
Pre-nursing GPA: 3.54
Science GPA: 3.67
HESI: 87.7
Pretty worried that my stats aren't good enough. Scored low on the A&P section of the HESI (80%) but made an A in the class...hoping maybe that will help even it out? I get discourage when I read through the other threads and see people get rejected with 4.0 GPA's and 90s on the HESI. I do have 80 volunteering hours at a children's hospital but I doubt that would help me enough.
Hi all, I also received an email yesterday (May 30th) that said I was waitlisted. So I've been scrolling through older forums and I've seen a lot of people posting about the acceptance/waitlist/rejection letters coming in "waves"... so for those of you who haven't heard back from UTHealth yet, don't give up hope! Congrats to everyone who already received their acceptance email. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!
Apparently there have been reports of waitlisters getting their acceptance notifications as late as the week before class starts... but I've also heard of some people getting their acceptances super early as well, so I don't know. I'm thinking of calling the school today to get some more information on how the waitlisting works.
So I just got off the phone with one of the ladies at the UT health school of nursing and asked when the latest they could notify us of our acceptance when on the waitlist and she said she has seen as little as a week or two prior to the first day of class BUT that it would not be the week of. I also asked how many waitlisters there are and if they were able to tell us on an individual basis where we ranked and she said that information could not be disclosed!! Just thought I would update ya'll and let you know!! Stay positive!! There is always a chance!! :)

didnt hurt to ask .. Lol .. Thank you .. So for us back to waiting game .. I don't know if it's a good or bad thing
I checked my portal this afternoon and I was officially denied. I'm grateful that I was accepted into another great school, even if UTH had been my dream for so may years! Good luck to those that will be applying another round and that are on the waitlist :)
Congrats, @Schwabee524! I just checked my portal, and I've also received an official denial. Just incase anyone's wondering, I didn't receive an email.
Also, for what it's worth, I'm also one who has quite a number of Ws on my record, considering I've been taking college classes on and off since 2005. Before I apply again, I hope we get some clear cut guidance on that.
I guess it's customary to throw out some stats even in the event of a denial, so here they are:
HESI: 94.8 overall
AP 96
Math 94
Reading 94
Vocab 92
Grammar 98
Nursing prereq: 3.5
Science prereq: 3.7
Other possible factors:
- Previous healthcare work experience
- Previous degree from UH (BS Psychology)
- Submitted application within days of deadline
- AP2 lecture and lab grades were still in progress at time of application submission
Anyone else still waiting to hear back?? I haven't been accepted, waitlisted or denied. Radio silence here
I've got nothing over here. My guess is that there are probably a ton of denials (if we're talking about 1100 applicants) so it may take some time to get them all put in. I'm guessing we'll definitely hear something tomorrow.
I checked my admissions status earlier this afternoon and received an official denial as well. I did not receive an email, just an update on my UT Health account. I am not sure what may have caused me to get denied. My stats are as follows:
Pre req GPA: 4.0
Science GPA: 4.0
Overall GPA: 3.94
HESI Score: 94
(I just graduated with a previous degree in the beginning of May)
Congrats to everyone who got in!!! :) I will be applying again for the Spring.

Thanks, nrvhy! I'll let you know how it goes - and if the ridiculous amount of time I've spent studying have paid off... :/
