Thought I would start a thread for the fall semester! Anyone who wants to share their stats or anything about the application process can post them here! My stats as of now...
Pre-nursing GPA: 3.54
Science GPA: 3.67
HESI: 87.7
Pretty worried that my stats aren't good enough. Scored low on the A&P section of the HESI (80%) but made an A in the class...hoping maybe that will help even it out? I get discourage when I read through the other threads and see people get rejected with 4.0 GPA's and 90s on the HESI. I do have 80 volunteering hours at a children's hospital but I doubt that would help me enough.
I'd like to say one last thing before I abandon these forums for the weekend. To any applicants that are worried about the decision etc. and have not received the email they are looking for:
I was listening to NPR this morning and ex-Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff was talking about when she was held and tortured by her government as a student for speaking her mind. She said that 'Defeat is a reaction in the face of difficulty.' Just let that sink in.
I started listening to the This Mortal Coil, which is this very orchestral but kind of somber English band, (easy to feel down to) and finishing up my drive to work, and I thought you know what, just stop. This lady put her life on the line for her beliefs and follows it up with defeat being a person's reaction? I almost think that any depression/frustration "because I don't know just yet" that I have pales in comparison to actions that someone like Ms. Rousseff have taken. Man up, I say to myself. I will not let defeat be my reaction in the face of this difficulty. I am smart and capable, as all of you are otherwise we all wouldn't be so invested. We will find a way to be the nurses that we want to be. I sure hope it is with UTH, as I am sure most of you do too.
Let's give UTH the time that they need to finish and just be realistic enough to know the possibilities for each of our futures. Have a great Memorial Day weekend everybody. And I sure hope I see some of you on campus.

I recently got accepted to UTHSC for Fall 2017 however I already accepted the admission offer at TWU and went to orientation( I haven't registered for classes though). If I want to go to UTH can I still reject TWU's offer? Or is it too late? I only accepted TWU because they needed a response in 10 days and I didn't know if I would get into UTH or not.
You could still reject them I accepted a schools offer because I didn't want to risk my chances of not getting accepted into UTHEALTH program. You would need to call and or send an email to withdraw yourself from the program. Hope all goes well for you í ½í¸Š
Sorry for the late response! Over the past few days since my acceptance, I received 3 emails. The first one was the classic "Congratulations! You've been accepted!" The second one was the system telling me to check my status on myUTH. The third one was telling me to accept on myUTH if I hadn't already & mentioned the last course I would need to complete (Philosophy).
I do have 80 volunteering hours at a children's hospital but I doubt that would help me enough.
