Hi all!
Thought I would start a thread for the fall semester! Anyone who wants to share their stats or anything about the application process can post them here! My stats as of now...
Pre-nursing GPA: 3.54
Science GPA: 3.67
HESI: 87.7
Pretty worried that my stats aren't good enough. Scored low on the A&P section of the HESI (80%) but made an A in the class...hoping maybe that will help even it out? I get discourage when I read through the other threads and see people get rejected with 4.0 GPA's and 90s on the HESI. I do have 80 volunteering hours at a children's hospital but I doubt that would help me enough.
WHy don't you apply to TWU?I took the TEAS, and I took it blind! I had to take the HESI twice, because my first A&P score was low... but I took the TEAS without studying and it was super easy! I got a 91.8 overall, with my lowest score being a 90 if I remember correctly.
I applied to UTHSC twice and was rejected, and I applied to UTA and TWU. I have accepted a spot at TWU and I couldn't be happier. Their admissions is points based and very clear cut.
There's no rhyme or reason @ UTHSC. If anyone is not accepted, it's because of the tough competition and the sheer amount of applicants, it is not a measure of who you are or if you can succeed!
Congrats to everyone who was accepted! Good Luck to those still waiting! Hang in there, it will happen when the time is right for you!
That's some really good advice. I took the TEAS maybe a year and a half ago. I got an overall 73 with a 73 in science, 80 in Math and Grammar, and a 59 in reading. I don't know how I did so poorly in reading. Well, I do. I spent the majority of my time studying for the science portion and didn't even look at reading. I thought, how hard could it be? LOL. It's definitely not as clear cut as the HESI reading portion.
I applied to TWU for the school but couldn't go any further because of my TEAS scores. Ever since I took it I've had some reservations on taking it again. But I think you're right and that's a good idea. I applied to UTA as well but I have to retake Chemistry again because they don't take the class and the lab separately. There are definitely options! It's just exhausting trying to meet all of the requirements expected from different schools. I wish it was all the same criteria. That would certainly make things easier.
Congrats on getting into TWU. I've heard its a great school!
:)
Hello.. Planning to register to take TEAS this summer. Any recommendations of good studying guides for the TEAS . Thanks
The ATI testing manual is really good. They came out with a new one this past year I think? Which is a lot thinner then the previous one but more organized in my opinion. I bought it off of amazon for pretty cheap and already lost it. HAHA. But I hear you should buy it off of the ATI website because two practice tests come included as opposed to buying it off of Amazon where they don't and it costs 100 dollars to purchase the two practice tests. I swear, they sure do know how to get money from us. HA!

If you PM me your email, I can send you their worksheet for figuring out your points... you can know instantly how competitive you are!
Could I get this too? :)
I typed in "TWU nursing spreadsheet" into google and it pops up.
OR here is a direct link to the Excel sheet: http://www.twu.edu/downloads/nursing/Copy_of_GPA_WS_for_web_11.20.15.xlsx
Hey everyone! I just got my acceptance email from UTH for the BSN pacesetter program starting this fall! My overall GPA is a 3.6, my science/math GPA is a 3.75, and my HESI average was a 94 (96 in Anatomy and 98 in math... if i remember correctly.)
Just wondering... is anyone looking for a roommate for the fall? I need to find somewhere to live ASAP but a 1B/1B is way to expensive for my budget. If anyone is looking for a roommate, let me know. I'm pretty laid back as long as you clean up after yourself, respect my privacy, and be respectful when i need to study or whatever, which i'm sure won't be a problem cause you'll be studying too if you are on this thread lol. I live in SA right now, but will be going to Houston in the next few weeks to look at some places and get everything figured out. Send me a message if you're interested!

Can I ask if you received an email and if so when you got the email?
