Hi all!
Thought I would start a thread for the fall semester! Anyone who wants to share their stats or anything about the application process can post them here! My stats as of now...
Pre-nursing GPA: 3.54
Science GPA: 3.67
HESI: 87.7
Pretty worried that my stats aren't good enough. Scored low on the A&P section of the HESI (80%) but made an A in the class...hoping maybe that will help even it out? I get discourage when I read through the other threads and see people get rejected with 4.0 GPA's and 90s on the HESI. I do have 80 volunteering hours at a children's hospital but I doubt that would help me enough.
Awesome!Yes. I already submitted my application and the yellow triangle of death popped up in the myUTH portal. However, I did ask one of the admissions counselors a while back (I guess they were feeling super motivated that day and decided to answer the phone) and she said that there is no need to resend all of the transcripts and HESI scores from the previous semester because they already have them. Unless of course you retake the HESI or take classes. Then you would have to send the most current one in.
I'll definitely retake the HESI. Now that I'm done with AP2 and now that I'm studying for the TEAS I think I can bump that AP grade up a bit.
Thanks so much for starting that up! Umm yeah, barely making the deadline for Fall was definitely me, too! Can't be doing that next time around! I agree with you, too - I enjoyed witnessing everyone's drive and passion (and humor, despite the circumstances) through the responses. Definitely a huge encouragement!
I think rnstudentcarmona should be awarded some allnurses award for humor. Something along the lines of "A laugh in the face of certain death" award sounds about right.

I think thats a good idea. The TEAS was awful the first time I took it. Not to scare you but the HESI is a breeze compared to the TEAS. However, I took it before we were allowed a calculator or revamped it to the TEAS VI (not that having a calculator would have given me better scores in reading, science, and grammar lol). I've heard that the A&P cliff notes are really helpful. I recommend that in addition to the HESI/TEAS manual. Just remember though, do well! UT will only take the most recent HESI score regardless of grades ... again, not to scare you. I also applied to St. Thomas also so depending on what happens, I will probably retake the TEAS as well. It's not my first choice by any means because its three years and really expensive. BUT, if I'm given the opportunity I am gonna take it because this Russian roulette application process with UT is concerning. haha
Late post but I got accepted!! Acceptance email received Wednesday May 24 @ 2:06 pm
Pre-req GPA:3.72
Science GPA: 3.312
HESI A&P Score: 100
HESI Overall: 94
Previous Bachelors?: Yes (Nutrition B.S. from University of Houston)
# of W in entire college career: 1 (genetics)
Any other ideas on why you may have gained acceptance: Only thing I can think of is the a&p hesi score and having a bachelors. I did take alot of sciences classes as per my degree (orgo 1, orgo 2, genetics, physics 1, physics 2). I'm an asian female if thats relevant at all.
My status was and is still incomplete (need to take intro to philosophy and intro to sociology during this summer session), I took hesi and submitted my application the day of the deadline (March 15), I received a transcript evaluation (postmarked april 25th).
This was my first time applying and the only place I applied for, I'm unbelievably thankful and humbled. So many of yall on the forum have sooo much better stats than I do and I really really hope yall hear back soon!!!
