Hi all!
Thought I would start a thread for the fall semester! Anyone who wants to share their stats or anything about the application process can post them here! My stats as of now...
Pre-nursing GPA: 3.54
Science GPA: 3.67
HESI: 87.7
Pretty worried that my stats aren't good enough. Scored low on the A&P section of the HESI (80%) but made an A in the class...hoping maybe that will help even it out? I get discourage when I read through the other threads and see people get rejected with 4.0 GPA's and 90s on the HESI. I do have 80 volunteering hours at a children's hospital but I doubt that would help me enough.

I wholeheartedly agree with you in the sense that AA isn't the all deciding factor. It just plays a role when they are selecting applications and there are also numerous other factors that they consider with it. There are certain percentages that they would like to meet. What those are, I have no clue.
Hey! So i know I'm a little late to the party lol but I was doing some research trying to find out if anyone has gotten in yet since the acceptance date is coming so soon. I am also one who is freaking out about this and checking my email like 47 times a day. I have gotten accepted into Lone Star North Harris's program for the fall so thankfully I have a back up but I would love to jump right into a BSN
My stats:
GPA: 3.7
Science GPA: 3.7
HESI avg: 91%
Right after the deadline I did talk to someone in admissions because I was wondering what the incomplete application status was (and yes it is about transcripts as I'm sure you all know) and she told me I have very competitive scores so idk if that makes anyone feel good about theirs or not. I do have a friend who is about to graduate from there this august and she got in with a 3.8 GPA and an 87% on her HESI. Just wanted to tell y'all what I know!
@Pearl2020They might but I can see arguments(pros/cons) for both sides (someone who is older/someone who is younger). I wonder what the average age is for individuals that are accepted?
I can't remember if I heard this at an info session or read it somewhere on the website but I remember the average age of the cohorts usually runs around 27-32 years old.

I see. Well, I was also denied. Twice. What percentage of male applicants were accepted because of AA? What were their scores/GPA compared to female applicants. In cohorts of the past, what percentage were male vs. female, white vs. non-white, etc? These are all rhetorical questions, of course. If, for example, you have somewhere around 1200 applicants and 120 seats to fill, AA may play a role in the selection process, but I'm not so sure it plays a SIGNIFICANT role. In my opinion, it's all just conjecture with no firm evidence.
