Hi all!
Thought I would start a thread for the fall semester! Anyone who wants to share their stats or anything about the application process can post them here! My stats as of now...
Pre-nursing GPA: 3.54
Science GPA: 3.67
HESI: 87.7
Pretty worried that my stats aren't good enough. Scored low on the A&P section of the HESI (80%) but made an A in the class...hoping maybe that will help even it out? I get discourage when I read through the other threads and see people get rejected with 4.0 GPA's and 90s on the HESI. I do have 80 volunteering hours at a children's hospital but I doubt that would help me enough.
Congrats on getting into Columbia! Thats amazing :)
I didn't get a transcript evaluation yet... I wonder if that is because I am still completing an ethics class and haven't submitted an official transcript.
Fingers crossed that we do hear something this week. The wait is driving me crazy!

Thank you! I appreciate that. :) If UTHSC doesn't work out for some reason (that's the only school I am applying for) than at least I have a great second option.
Oh my gosh. I totally agree. I check the myUTH portal like 15 times a day. HA!
I don't think I have anything left to complete and I haven't received one either so I wouldn't worry too much about it! I've got our fingers crossed for all of us! We will all get in.
Lets hope we hear back this week though! Ill certainly let yall know if I hear something!
Do any of ya'll know if the school looks at work experience at all? It says they do on the website but I'm going through the forums and it seems they mainly look at the HESI and GPA.
Truthfully, I don't think there are any clear cut expectations that are required. That we know of anyway. It's really hard to tell. All of the previous forum GPA's, HESI scores, prior degrees, and work experience have varied on opposite ends of the spectrum. I feel like the best indication is comparing students who have been offered admission into the program. But it seems like once they are offered admission, they don't really come back and post their stats. Probably because they are so excited. LOL
Ugh am I the only unlucky one here. I applied for the fall program and admissions say they never received it but they do see that I made a payment. They want to refund my money but I don't want a refund, I want them to look for my application and process it. Now they are telling me to reapply but for spring 2018. I am so frustrated.Does Any one know who I can speak with about this. I already spoke with Joann but she wasn't able to help me. Thank you everyone and good luck to all of you :)
So on my transcript evaluation (which I barely received today) they miscounted a science class for me, like they didn't include my AP 2 altogether. I plan on emailing them but through the forums it seems they take forever to reply. Has this happened to anyone else, if so did admissions respond to you in a timely manner?
Hello everyone, I just received my transcript evaluation.
overall GPA stands at 3.368.
Nursing prerequisite is 3.620
science GPA is 3.562
I dont know how they calculate the GPA's because they way i calculated using online calculators much lower GPA's. However I have an >R next to my statistics course. Does anyone know what this R stands for? I have a P next to a course that i am taking right now which i assume stands for pending.
Was it a repeated course, maybe? Was it one of the approved stat courses? Maybe it could stand for rejected (but hopefully not). That's all I can think of.

I just called UT they said that the R suffix stands for recorded and its for internal use only. But no other pre requisite course has this suffix ®. All the other courses that i took for my previous degree but that are not used to satisfy the prerequisites also have a suffix R. The course is Applied Technical Statistics that I needed for my bachelor's program I earned a B for the class. But before that i took PSYC3301 and earned a C. It is the only course i repeated. So i dont know if they are recording that they are substituting a class with a higher grade for the lower grade. Im lost lol

I tried emailing them about my American government class they did not transfer for months. Never got a response and ended up paying out of state tuition to take another government class. Lmao

Hopefully we hear something this week ya'll. Has any received a transcript evaluation yet?
I got accepted into Columbia for their graduate program last Friday which is pretty exciting. I deferred my admission to next fall with the hope of getting into nursing school at UT by then. If after four times I apply between now and then and still don't get accepted, that's where I'll be going.
It'll be interesting to see how the acceptance rate at UTHSC differs from there! But then again, you don't have letters of intent, resumes, and professional background experience that works in your favor when applying to UTHSC. *eye roll*
