I was just accepted to UTA as a student and just filled out the application for the traditional BSN program. I'm kind of worried that my stats might not be so great and wanted to see if anyone else has applied?
3.5 Science GPA
3.66 Overall
92 HESI
I am not partnered and I hadn't heard about that before I was on this site. I work full time in a non healthcare field.
I still need to take the three prerequisite classes (Pharmacology, Pathophysiologic Processes, Intro to Professional Nursing) at UTA, as well as Technical Writing, American History I, Texas Government, and College Algebra which should raise my overall GPA.
Any advice/ anyone else applying for Fall 2014?
oops, sorry utabsnhopeful. I didn't see your post from before. Well, now that we got that straightened out...
The applicants who were accepted also had to go to the GroupOne website and pay for a background check. The only thing that makes sense to me about why you guys don't have to do it, is it may be a quick and dirty method of weeding out the bad seeds since the BON background check takes so long. Maybe they have us do this so they can have plenty of time to call people off the waitlist.
If anyone is reading this and DID get accepted, and/or know of others that did, posting your/their stats might be helpful for those of that are still waiting :) maybe it will give us an idea of how close we were/are to making it!
I know-
one guy that was accepted with a 3.5 science, 3.8 overall, 2 considerations
Also, just to get a few of you as mad as i was when i found this out: I know a guy who is currently in patho w/ me, who got in w/ a 3.1!!! He changed his major this semester (had to drop out of pharm) so I don't think he's taking the spot, but supposedly UTA makes an effort to keep a certain percentage of males?? Not sure how true that is. But if he got in w/ that, then...
