I was just accepted to UTA as a student and just filled out the application for the traditional BSN program. I'm kind of worried that my stats might not be so great and wanted to see if anyone else has applied?
3.5 Science GPA
3.66 Overall
92 HESI
I am not partnered and I hadn't heard about that before I was on this site. I work full time in a non healthcare field.
I still need to take the three prerequisite classes (Pharmacology, Pathophysiologic Processes, Intro to Professional Nursing) at UTA, as well as Technical Writing, American History I, Texas Government, and College Algebra which should raise my overall GPA.
Any advice/ anyone else applying for Fall 2014?
well like i said before, i was reading some other posts for 2012 and people with 4.0 sciences and 3.86 overall gpa's were waitlisted and got accepted in the end. so, if they were waitlisted then i think we should be a bit higher on the list...that's just by looking at other stats though. and according to their board, that year was a lot more competitive than this one...or so it semms.
I have a friend that was waitlisted with a 3.73 overall and a 4.0 science last fall, he was waitlisted for the AP program and got called in June. Idk, it's all kind of a blur to me. I want to feel confident that they will call especially because of what the dean told you guys

My best friend is starting there this fall! I wonder if they would make us re-take pharm & patho... That would be a bummer. But yeah, they require stats II, speech & nutrition... So that might be my plan for fall if I don't get a call from UTA. I'm like you- just realllllyy hoping to start this fall! With 40 people on the waitlist, do you think we are somewhere closer to the top? Do you know anyone who got in with similar stats as yours?
I have a science gpa of 3.25, overall 3.6, 2 considerations... And I know a guy with a 3.5 science 3.8 overall, 2 considerations that got in.
I think that 3.25 is what got me; I ended with a 89 in micro
UGH. Anyway, if it weren't for those 2 considerations I wouldn't be in the running.
