Fall 2014- Traditional BSN

Published

I was just accepted to UTA as a student and just filled out the application for the traditional BSN program. I'm kind of worried that my stats might not be so great and wanted to see if anyone else has applied?

3.5 Science GPA

3.66 Overall

92 HESI

I am not partnered and I hadn't heard about that before I was on this site. I work full time in a non healthcare field.

I still need to take the three prerequisite classes (Pharmacology, Pathophysiologic Processes, Intro to Professional Nursing) at UTA, as well as Technical Writing, American History I, Texas Government, and College Algebra which should raise my overall GPA.

Any advice/ anyone else applying for Fall 2014?

That means that enough people rejected their seat in the nursing program to call off all of the people off of the waitlist plus more. Sorry that sentence is a little confusing.

The way the assistant dean described it was they make a long list of all the qualified applicants and they accept applicant 1-140. Then applicants 141-170 are put on the waitlist. When someone rejects their seat they call applicant 141 and so on.

Oh okay. Do they email prop one by one or in a cluster of people?

That doesn't make sense either. Lol. Umm...I mean like as soon as someone accepts or rejects the next position do they ask one person to take the spot on the waitlist or do they wait for there to be at least 10 then email all of them at the same time?

She didn't say how they do that. And those numbers aren't exact, but it gives a good idea. They just make sure that they have every seat filled when nursing school starts.

Thanks. So pretty much im at the bottom of the list for the off campus. -_-

Haha. I doubt you're below me.

How do I log in?

You never know. They call people that are denied too. So youstill might have a chance since they emailed me.

chezlesamie- you are logged in? Lol

I really wish I would have gone to that meeting though. I feel like I would have had a better insight of how this thing works.

Yeah I know what you mean. Honestly, I don't think you missed much. She was extremely vague about everything. I think they (the advisors and assistant dean) purposely give vague answers. I swear they were all in politics before their current jobs. :p

Hi everyone! I am on the waitlist and so nervous to wait for a calling off the list. I wonder about my waitlist stat because I've just done with Pharm and Patho at Dcccd and I do not know how my grade can be updated. Do anyone here take Patho and Pharm outside UTA?
