Fall 2014- Traditional BSN

Published

I was just accepted to UTA as a student and just filled out the application for the traditional BSN program. I'm kind of worried that my stats might not be so great and wanted to see if anyone else has applied?

3.5 Science GPA

3.66 Overall

92 HESI

I am not partnered and I hadn't heard about that before I was on this site. I work full time in a non healthcare field.

I still need to take the three prerequisite classes (Pharmacology, Pathophysiologic Processes, Intro to Professional Nursing) at UTA, as well as Technical Writing, American History I, Texas Government, and College Algebra which should raise my overall GPA.

Any advice/ anyone else applying for Fall 2014?

Do anyone hear anything about calling off wait list?

I was called off the waiting list on Wednesday for the off campus. So maybe soon

Yay! Is that your preference? Or will you be hoping for an on-campus spot?

On campus is my preference but if I do get called for that one im not sure if ill take it just because off campus finishes quicker. So, idk. Lol. And thanks :)

I just got called off the wait-list around the beginning of June, but I'm not accepting the offer because I'm accepting TWU offer instead, someone is definitely going to get called soon, GL :)

Which program did you pass up? I'm still waiting on the weekend program since I'm "next in line". Since I may not get that call before the start date I have stopped holding my breath. Glad you got the call. Best of luck to all who are starting this fall on your nursing careers! :)

Why did u pass up UTA for TWU if you don't mind me inquiring ?

I read somewhere that TWU is ranked higher, and since Houston has one of the biggest medical centers in Texas I figured once I'm done with my degree in Houston it should be easy to get a job there, since Ill be familiar with the hospitals.

You'll make more in Houston too. My cousin is an ER nurse in Houston and she makes ~$50/hr!

wow that's awesome. im kind of hoping that I'll get a call from the on campus because off campus just seems way too fast for me.

Would they take a student off the list for the on-campus if they already accepted the off-campus or vise versa?
