Fall 2014- Traditional BSN

Published

I was just accepted to UTA as a student and just filled out the application for the traditional BSN program. I'm kind of worried that my stats might not be so great and wanted to see if anyone else has applied?

3.5 Science GPA

3.66 Overall

92 HESI

I am not partnered and I hadn't heard about that before I was on this site. I work full time in a non healthcare field.

I still need to take the three prerequisite classes (Pharmacology, Pathophysiologic Processes, Intro to Professional Nursing) at UTA, as well as Technical Writing, American History I, Texas Government, and College Algebra which should raise my overall GPA.

Any advice/ anyone else applying for Fall 2014?

wow! that really brings up my hopes! i thought about not taking pharm and patho this summer because i was going to take other classes that other schools require...like a nutrition, statistics, etc. but i figured i would just wait it out and pray for the best.

speaking of background check...how do you do that? ive gone to the website and it said that there is no record of me? im confused as to why it says that. am i non existent?! lol just kidding. i am worried about that though. have you done yours yet?

I also know some people in some of my classes that were wait listed and applied to other school besides UTA....i know 3 people that did not turn in their wait list form and accepted the other school's offer. 2 other women that I know are pregant and decided to move their application to the spring. So with that being said, let's stay positive and pray that they'll call us!!!

i wish they would tell us what number we are on the list! life would be so much easier! :/

Are you talking about the GroupOne or the Texas BON background check?

Texas BON. What is GroupOne?

Wow, we should compare notes. Did you have a table of due dates in your letter?

No. The only documents that came with my letter were the background check (BON), wait list conformation form to be signed, and an estimate of how much each semester is going to cost.

Oh. That's weird. So the BON background check was a separate document/form from the confirmation letter you had to sign?

well, it was an attachment that came along with the initial email.

The assistant dean said that after turn in our wait list form, they send our information to the Texas BON, then they will e-mail us with further instructions... someone about FastPass? I don't know. But she said we are waiting on that e-mail before we can continue the process.

Does that attachment talk about the Fast Fingerprint Pass form?

So...we don't have to do anything then? No documentation of something? It says that it takes 60-90 days to process the background check...
