Hi all! I’ve searched around & haven’t seen any threads on the Fall 2019 NCCC Nursing program applicants so I decided to start one. I would love to hear from current applicants, current/past students, family or friends of NCCC nurses. Any feedback is appreciated. Feel free to join in & let’s chat! ?
New to the board, and just was accepted into 1st semester days!
Question that has probably already been discussed.. I'm not 100% familiar with the new program. I know with the current program, you are able to sit for the NCLEX after the 2 yr. assoc. program. When are you able to with this program?? Thanks for any insight..

Congratulations on being accepted! I think you are able to sit for the NCLEX after 5 semesters or 2 1/2 years for the semester 1 students and 4 semsterw or 2 years for the semester 2 students. I believe you need your associates in Nursing and RN license to move on semester 6, 7 & 8 for the BSN part.
The one good thing about this new BSN program is you are able to take the NCLEX and get your associates after a certain amount of time so you’ll be able to get a job and work while completing your BSN. There are still some hospitals and healthcare places that will hire an RN with associates degree enrolled in a BSN program. Thats why I am happy I got it. Hoping I can take the NCLEX in 4 semesters since I got in 2nd semester evening. I worked for a hospice agency, homecare and a hospital, they are still hiring nurses with associates and require employees to complete their BSN for a certain time period.
Also my advised to those who go in as first semester students, speak to the nursing department before you take classes to try to be a second semester student in the Fall. Since they changed the program they might only take certain classes for you to move on. Even if you can’t take the clinical or nursing classes semester 1, I would try to take all the liberal arts courses to get them over with and lessen the course load when you take the nursing courses.
Congrats again to everyone who got in! And to those who didn’t don’t give up! You guys will eventually get there!

Congratulations! I am in 101 now and still can’t believe I got in. Whenever I get overwhelmed with all the work I just remind myself how lucky I am to be in the program and it gets me back on track.
