Fall 2012 Microbiology Students -- STAND UP!

Since we had these threads when I was in A&P I and II, and I thought I'd start one for Microbiology. Anybody else delving into the world of bacteria and viruses this fall? Let's start a support thread! Let's share our victories and failures, exchange study tips, and cheer each other on.

My first lecture and lab classes are tomorrow. I'm looking forward to this class.

Good luck!!!!!! I took Micro. It was interesting but not easy. I thought A&PI and II were wayyyy easier.

My microbiology class started on the 21st. My powerpoints for the class suck. I am so nervous! :(

I just took it in summer session and it was a lot of info but I really enjoyed what I learned. I am one of this students that takes awhile to process things but what really helped me was review the lecture recordings, rewrite my notes and I even took pics of everything in lab and add it to my notes, do study focus sheets and rewrite them again.... I was never a flash card person... Hth

I'm starting micro next Mon!! Super excited as these are my VERY last two classes (I'm taking micro & pharm) before I hopefully start NS in Jan! Ready to get this semester going! I got a really good professor also so I'm pretty stoked about that! :D

I'm taking Micro & Pharm as well. Aren't you happy that we'll be DONE with pre-reqs at the end of the semester? YAY!!!! Best of luck to you!:yeah:

Oh yes I am!! Feels like I've been working on the prereqs forever! But I'm glad I will have everything done when I (hopefully) enter NS. I'll be even more excited if I get that acceptance letter come Oct!

I will be taking Micro next semester with Growth and development the two last classes before I go to UAMS BSN program!!!. I went to the first micro class today so I could get a syllabus to help me prepare for what's coming next spring. Although the professor had a strong Indian accent he seems to have a good grasp of the subject and the ability to teach it. The introduction was so interesting that I wanted to register for the class until I remembered I also am taking Organic chem (sigh..) I just hope he'll be able to use the Microphone because it was hard to hear him. Good luck to you all and for those of you taking it next semester as well let's stick together next time!

I *hope* I'll be taking it. I cannot get the community college's financial aid department to call me back about financial aid and I'm so mad about it that I'm ready to tell them to forget my classes and enroll elsewhere if they aren't going to return a simple phone call.

I have started to study a little bit of Microbiology everyday, even if it's only 30 minutes. I figure I will increase the time as subjects get harder.

I am so overwhelmed right now. I started all of my classes yesterday (Micro, A&P2, and Human growth and developement) and am already swamped with homework and studying. :( There is so much material between the three classes and I dont know how I am ever going to finish and know everything this semester. I am not giving up by any means but really need some support. I hope everyone elses semester is going good.

I started micro yesterday. So far I think I am really going to enjoy it. My first micro lab is tomorrow, we'll see how it goes!
