Starting this thread for anyone that have questions or concerns about the 2018 fall nursing program at Miami Dade College. I have a 4.0 science gpa and studying to take the hesi by the end of February. I also plan on applying for the generic full time as well as the accelerated program because I'm not sure which one I want yet. I already have a bachelors from FIU and I literally started all the prerequisites the summer of 2017. If anywho took those sequences can you please share your stories? Pro and con.. And also what is the hesi like!
Hi my name is Lina and I currently have a 3.8 GPA although I'm missing my grades for A&P 2 and microbiology. I'm scheduled to take the hesi March 28th and I'm super nervous for the chem and bio.
I'll be applying for the full-time and part-time generic. I'm looking forward to seeing all of you in nursing school.
Hi everyone, Jimnurse75. Good Luck on your HESI. I took mine already and did pretty well:88. I would recommend everyone to study ahead. I did not have enough time and practically burned the Pocket Prep app to prepare. I used the review book from Evolve and pocket prep. The also provide two free tests at Evolve once you register for test, I used those too. I have been wondering too if one can work while in the nursing program. I will probably stop working when I start until I get an idead of how much time I really have to work.
Does anyone know any way to get around the Intro to Health Care requirement? I have been looking all over and it looks like MDC is the only place to take that specific class. I dont live in the area but was hoping to move down there for Nursing School. Is there anyone who knows about getting credit for that for another course?? I am hoping to not have to move there just to take the class before I can even apply to the program.

the competitive score is the science GPA x 10 and the HESI score x .60.... yours would be 94% (4.0 x 10=40 , 90 x .60= 54, 54 + 40=94 )
