Fall 2018 Miami Dade College

Updated:   Published

Starting this thread for anyone that have questions or concerns about the 2018 fall nursing program at Miami Dade College. I have a 4.0 science gpa and studying to take the hesi by the end of February. I also plan on applying for the generic full time as well as the accelerated program because I'm not sure which one I want yet. I already have a bachelors from FIU and I literally started all the prerequisites the summer of 2017. If anywho took those sequences can you please share your stories? Pro and con.. And also what is the hesi like!

Hello everyone. I applied for the Fall 2018 generic part-time. My science GPA is a 3.47 and I got an 88 on my HESI. I believe my competitive score is an 87.7. I don't know how to feel about that because I don't see many people aiming for the part time program, but hopefully it is good enough because I know those spots are limited in comparison to the full time program. Good luck to everyone!

Hi everyone!

I am taking the Hesi on Thursday 3/15. My science gpa is a 2.9. It's not the best. Any advice on taking the hesi?!

I am stressing and scared.

Good luck everyone!

How was the hesi? I'm so nervous..I take mine on March 9th and been studying everything to the point that my brain just hurts

Hey Cosmohippie how did ur test went ?

Hey I did alright, I need to retake it because I need to raise my competitive score I got a 83.71 on the HESI

Hey! I've been super busy with life but I got a 85.25.. it wasn't what I expected because the book and pocket prep was no help to me.. but thank goodness I actually payed attention in anatomy and bio.. the hesi edition 3 and 4 is useless for anatomy and much of bio.. the math, reading, grammar, and vocabulary is very helpful though.. I want to take the test again in April but I'm waiting for more dates to be added ..

Hello!

I took my HESI and scored 81.43 and my gpa is 3.38. I plan on retaking the exam the end of this month.

Good luck everybody!

Hi everyone! I took the HESI yesterday and it was pretty tough. I got a an 87% and have a 4.0 Science GPA. Do you all think that score is enough or should I retake the HESI in April? I want to apply to the Part Time program which i know is competitive. I already applied for the program, but the advisor told me if I chose to retake the exam, i could just swap out my Hesi grades if i did better. What do you all think? Thanks

That's a great score to get in. Well I was accepted to Broward Nursing program today for Summer term YAAAY. I really want to attend Miami Dade because the program is shorter. My competitive score is a 84% or 85%. I applied to the accelerated and generic program at Dade. The wait is killing me.

Omg that's awesome! I heard the Broward program is a bit longer.. hopefully you also get into Miami Dade .. and yes the wait is sooo annoying! I just want to get in already !!! Ahhhh

Hi everyone, I am selling my MDC school uniforms. They are not new. I used them the entire year. I bought the pants at the Medical campus bookstore and the tops at Blue Angel across the street. Contact me if interested.

I completed the AO program for 2017. If you have any questions you'd like to ask on the program, please feel free to ask.

How was the program? Was it doable? Did you work? Can you throw out there some good professors to take? And last but not least. What should I start looking over now? How was your first semester?

I took the Hesi today and got a 91%. The test was not hard if you at least take a month to study beforehand. I used the pocket prep app the most and it really helped.

I immediately applied to the generic full time and part time.

Good luck to everyone!
