Fall 2018 Miami Dade College

Updated:   Published

Starting this thread for anyone that have questions or concerns about the 2018 fall nursing program at Miami Dade College. I have a 4.0 science gpa and studying to take the hesi by the end of February. I also plan on applying for the generic full time as well as the accelerated program because I'm not sure which one I want yet. I already have a bachelors from FIU and I literally started all the prerequisites the summer of 2017. If anywho took those sequences can you please share your stories? Pro and con.. And also what is the hesi like!

I have the same competitive score as you, 3.4 gpa and 85.71 hesi, I hope we get in. Good luck!! Also I got a c in one of my sciences is that an automatic disqualification really nervous.

Hi guys, I found a good thread of info here. Feel free to check it!

Much of the info is known but it has links to other info you may want to know about. It's a good time investment while we wait anyhow, Good Luck!!

I'm wondering how many people are applying for this term, I saw about 30 people doing the HESI test on May 1st ....

Hello guys, I am just wondering if anyone has taken an alternative course to MAC1105 like MFG1106 which is called Math for Liberal Arts. On the pre-reqs for the nursing program it is accepted as your college level math course, however, on the bottom there's an asterisk saying MAC1105 is highly recommended to better prepare you for pharmacology math. I'm wondering if taking an alternative math will be frowned upon when it comes to selecting someone for the program, or maybe they don't care about that. Any input?

Hello JayRTRM, that is a good question. However, your best shot is to ask directly to an advisor at the medical campus. If you live far from the medical campus, call to advicement (305 237 4141) and ask to speak with an advisor to clear your doubt.

Are you planning to apply for the spring?

Hello everyone! Good luck to everyone that applied. it's a waiting game now.I'm so excited but super nervous. My composite score is 93.6. Let's keep each other updated on the emails.

Hello everyone!

I have applied for the fall term generic and AO... looking at your grades I think I will not have a chance to get in... y'all have awesome grades... my composite score is 80.02 :/ I didn't preparer myself for the hesi... the schedule was to tight. I got 72.29 and my since gpa is 3.67.

I got accepted into nova's program but still I'm thinking...

LeoBSN you don't know I have heard of ppl getting in with worse grades stay positive

LeoBSN, no one knows who will get into the program. Remember we're just posting and speculating as the days go by. I got a friend who got accepted into the accelerated program with a lower competitive score than yours.

Don't get discouraged and stay positive.

Hello Emart265,
