Starting this thread for anyone that have questions or concerns about the 2018 fall nursing program at Miami Dade College. I have a 4.0 science gpa and studying to take the hesi by the end of February. I also plan on applying for the generic full time as well as the accelerated program because I'm not sure which one I want yet. I already have a bachelors from FIU and I literally started all the prerequisites the summer of 2017. If anywho took those sequences can you please share your stories? Pro and con.. And also what is the hesi like!
Hello Mskaty, If we could only know the scoring average, we could have an idea about who gets in and who doesn't. I called last week to ask about a course that I needed to take and also see I could get some info about score average and when would they be sending the acceptance emails, but the only thing they told me was to wait until the second week of June
I guess we just have to wait, then. Personally, I wouldn't wait for MDC if Barry's dateline is near otherwise I would wait for a little while to see if I get into MDC's program. This waiting period is very stressful. Let's keep our hopes high. ?
Mskaty,
Think positive!!!! My score wasn't so hot either. But the requirement is a 65 for Hesi and 2.5 for gpa and we got more than the minimum. I've been reading past forums with people getting in with lower scores and ppl have been saying that on this one, so I know it's possible. It just depends on the applicant pool.
It's not over until it's over!! We will make it

Hello MzSaveYoLife,
I'm taking the last 3 courses left to get my AA. I'm trying to get ahead so I don't have to go back and take those courses after I graduate. Also, finishing those courses can be my plan B in the case of not making the cut for MDC so I could apply for a University. I'm taking Statistics, Humanities and Federal Politics to complete my AA

Well, as I said before, I called recently and the advisor told me that we should know between the First and the second week on June, so I think you should wait for MDC to give you an answer and then make your decision. Let's stay positive ?

I don't think I'll get it in. Applied for full and part time, my HESI score was 71 and my GPA is 3.0. I also applied to Barry and they accepted me. I just don't know if I should accept going to Barry or risk it and wait for MDC.
