Fall 2018 Miami Dade College

Updated:   Published

Starting this thread for anyone that have questions or concerns about the 2018 fall nursing program at Miami Dade College. I have a 4.0 science gpa and studying to take the hesi by the end of February. I also plan on applying for the generic full time as well as the accelerated program because I'm not sure which one I want yet. I already have a bachelors from FIU and I literally started all the prerequisites the summer of 2017. If anywho took those sequences can you please share your stories? Pro and con.. And also what is the hesi like!

Hello Robi02, I believe the accelerated program is a different program than the bridge. The accelerated program is for those with a Bachelors and the bridge is for those who have an LPN or are a paramedic. I've also heard they accept respiratory therapist. It's the same 12 months but for some reason they are two different programs. I hope I get in, my hospital is pushing me to receive my RN. Good luck to all!

Hello nursemeech, my bad I misread your post. I thought you said you've applied to the accelerated program. However, I didn't see many people in these forums saying that they had applied for the bridge program, that might be a good thing and for you (fingers cross). Are you an LPN?

Yes fingers crossed! Hoping we can all get in. Having a forum like this is nice we can keep each other posted on any news.

I'm a LPN I work for Nicklaus Children's Hospital. I'm hoping that I can continue working while I'm in nursing school. When I was in nursing school it was Monday - Friday and I couldn't work. Not sure how this program runs.

Now we have to wait from 2 to 8 weeks so, good luck to everybody. I share my competitive score 89.5 (GPA 4, HESI 82.5)

Hi Japenurse! Did they tell you 2-8 weeks? The counselor told me June?

Is everyone ready for the wait?!!!!!!! It is going to be a long month. I hope we all get in!!!!!!!!!!!! if anyone hears anything please let us all know

Hello everyone,

I applied for the Generic full-time. My GPA is 4.0 and I scored 90 on the HESI, making my competitive score 94.

Good luck to everyone, I hope we get the acceptance letters soon.
