Fall 2020 MANE applications

Published

Wanted to get a thread started on applicants for MANE Fall 2020 applicants. I’m applying to Inver Hills and Century with a composite score of 11.53. A little worried it won’t be enough to get in this time around, but I’ve already taken the TEAS 3 times and don’t want to take it again! Good luck everyone!

I thought the essays didn’t hold and weight to get in. My score was an 11.53 waitlisted at the number 5 spot at inver and waitlisted at century but not sure what spot

@Ctsmith8 CONGRATS on your admission to Inver!

@KariTomy You are correct in that the essays were not used to evaluate applicants. (At least that's what the advisers at both Inver and Century told me)

Hi everyone! I had a composite score of 11.53 and applied to NHCC and Normandale. Rejected from NHCC and waitlisted for Normandale, I’m debating on going to Rasmussen to get my BSN straightaway. I really want to get into Normandale, that was my first choice. How likely is it to be admitted from the waitlist?

I know of one person who attended Rasmussen. They said that their accreditation is kinda messed up. They did not go into detail but recommended going elsewhere. That being said they had two interviews with conditional job offers after passing NCLEX.

Good luck!

Got into arcc and century, waitlisted at inver with 11.31 at number 22. Denied entry into normandale. Apparently my english composition was not equivalent to freshman composition even though transferology and the school told me it was. I will be accepting century althoight I would have preferred inver but cant guarantee I will make it off the waitlist.

What was your score for century and Inver?

Oh nvm you said your score for Inver. ??‍♀️ Was it the same for century?

Score for century was 11.97. I expected to get in there. Inver made me use my old biology class from nearly 10 years ago instead of a and p so my GPA suffered.

I was accepted @ NHCC.

I went and picked up my letter this afternoon. Apparently the original one got lost in the mail & they couldn't disclose my status over the phone. They said that they mailed them on Friday so give them a call if you haven't received your letter yet.

So bummed for the people who didn't get in. ? For people who are waitlisted (at least at Century), there is hope! Last year when I applied to Century college I was waitlisted at #4 and was offered a spot. The counselor told me the first 20 typically are offered a spot. However my husband and I were not in a position to move and take the spot. After moving back in state I applied to this fall cohort. Congratulations to all who got into their programs! I applied only to Century college with a 4.0 and a 78.8 on my TEAS. I was accepted and will be starting this fall. Looking forward to meeting my classmates! ?

Congratulations! Did they initially give you a waitlist number at century? All the said is that I was put on a temporary waitlist, but no number. I’m number 5 on the waitlist at Inver, but Century is closer to me, so I’d rather go there.

@KariTomy Thank you!! Fingers crossed for you on acceptance at Century. Less commuting is far better and time better spent with family. When I applied last year I was wait listed at Century and they emailed me the number I was at. I was calling/emailing with the counselor there at Century pretty consistently since I was applying from out of state (CA) and I didn't know about the delay last year in getting out letters. She was the one who sent me the notice about being waitlisted and the number I was at. I hope that helps and I have heard Century can drag their feet a bit when letters are about to be sent out. All I can say is be persistent and if you need an excellent counselor I recommend -----------------. She is absolutely amazing!! Hands down I think she is a counselor that actually helps students and assists them in the applying or in the other details of process when going to school. Let me know if you have any other questions, otherwise I am sending good thoughts and good energy your way that you will get into Century.

I got accepted into Century College with a score around 11.8. Was denied at Anoka because apparently my classes did not transfer over (strange since Century accepted all my class equivalences).

For those accepted to Century, were you guys able to access their Nursing Program Acceptance Contract? For some reason I can't access it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I've also contacted Century regarding this.

Best of luck to those still waiting!
