Fall 2019 Lonestar Hopefuls

Published

Hey everybody. I'm not sure if it's too early but I'm making this page for anybody who is applying to the nursing program at Lonestar College for the Fall of 2019. Looks like Montgomery, Cyfair, and North Harris have applications from Jan 7-April 12. Good luck to everyone!

It's very easy! I took professor (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) online, the only test was the final exam, grades consisted of nothing but quizzes and case studies, all found online! It's an easy A! ?

Sounds like a no brainer

Does anyone know what grades are accepted into nursing. Say for instance you have a 3.9GPA and a 7.7 and you applied but this semester but you made a C/D in Medical Micro or Pharmacology during the semester you applied. If you get accepted would they have to defacto take those grades into the program. Since they aren't graded until after the acceptance letter.

You have to have a C or better in those course whether you take them before or during the program! So if you had a D you’ll most likely have to retake those courses

The program doesn’t look at your cumulative GPA, they only take the average GPA of A&P and ENGL 1301. So if you got an A in English and a B in A&P you would have a 3.5 as an average GPA. Also, you have to make a 74.5+ to pass in the program so if you make below that in a core class then you would have to retake it.

It’s Monday!

I hope y’all chanted Monday all weekend long! ?

Has anyone considered other careers in case you don't make it this next semester? I've heard so many stories of people waiting years to get in. I had thought maybe pta as a backup or go for bachelors in biology. I really don't know what else I'd do with all these science courses.

I applied for the RRT program at KW. The pre-reqs are the same and the pay was like 10 k difference and i thought worse comes to worst ill finish the degree and reapply to nursing school with a better resume and skill set.
