Fall 2018 Lone Star Hopefuls

Published

Hey everyone, just wanted to start a Fall 2018 page for Lone Star ADN/LVN future students!

I didn't do the rapid series. I did it over the course of six months. I completed the series last week and I took the Titer the day after my last Hep B shot and it was negative. Since I just completed the series last week it is to soon to start another series without waiting 30 days
I'm sorry. That really stinks. Have you called and verified that you can't turn in your previous ones with the negative titer? The reason for the rule is to ensure that you have antibodies before clinical's. It sounds like you will... Maybe you can turn in your previous 6 month's of immunizations and then the positive titer in a month?
I really hope I get in to Montgomery! The hospitals around that area are so nice. I'm assuming that's where some of clinicals are done?

Yep! They use Conroe, Local Woodlands Area Hospitals, and sometimes go downtown I think for certain specialized rotations.

Fingers crossed guys! Wishing all of you the best. These next couple of weeks are going to drive me crazy lol. Since applying I keep checking my email, even though I know nothing will be sent til April. The wait= the struggle is real!!!

Good Luck to all. Unfortunately my application will be invalid because I just completed my series on Mar 14 and you have to wait 30 days after that to take the titer. By then I will have missed the deadline. So good luck to all my fellow future nurses. You guys have worked so hard and it will soon pay off. Best Wishes ❤️❤️❤️

I feel your pain. When the July-Sept application gets here, you will be so ready! Best wishes to you as well, and I have a feeling you will be the one who advises the next group of hopefuls about all things Hep B and titer related! ❤️

I was in your place at the last application period in 2017. It broke my heart to have to wait. Your time will come and you will be better prepared and be able to put your application in on opening day like I did. Best wishes to you!!! Keep your head up!!!

Same here! I applied for the RN program at Montgomery, Tomball, and North Harris. You?

Same! In that order as well. I think our scores are similar too so maybe we will get in the same program?

Hello!

I've submitted my application for Montgomery, Tomball, and North Harris. My score is 7.616. I applied last semester for Kingwood and Cy-Fair I believe? My score was a 7.116 (B in English, A in both A&P, 3.616 on HESI) and I was chosen as an alternate. When I went to the seminar they said it was highest application period they have even seen. So its definitely getting tougher. I ultimately could not meet the deadline for the MMR titer since I had to wait a certain period after my immunization series. I retook English and got an A to better my chances and it was worth it! I was a little upset having to wait another semester but I realized it has it's benefits. I'm using this time to take other prereqs, save money, and have fun!

When I went to the seminar they said it was highest application period they have even seen.

I believe it! I heard the waitlist was at 7.4 for Spring admission. Congrats on your high score! I'm fascinated to see how this enrollment will look, regarding the scores for admission. It's getting crazy.

It's the last day to apply! It kinda feels like that moment when you've been seated on a roller coaster, your seat belt is fastened, and the lap bar is about to be lowered and locked into place. I know everyone is ready to get this roller coaster ride in motion!

7.4 seem to be a pretty good score. My classmate started in the spring and she had a 7.4 and another with 7.4 was waitlisted. That's when the critical thinking score comes in. í ¾í´·í ¼í¿½*♀️
