Fall 2018 Lone Star Hopefuls

Hey everyone, just wanted to start a Fall 2018 page for Lone Star ADN/LVN future students!

Kinda upsets me because my score is 7.36 with an 870 critical thinking. If I don't get accepted, I'll be retaking the hesi to make my score higher for Kingwood application period.

Quick question peeps,

I attempted to apply for financial aid but I was denied because I already have a bachelor's degree. They said I could appeal the decision but I am curious if anybody else is having a similar problem? if so, what did you do to fix it??

Depending on the programs you applied to, that should be good, I would hope! I believe Montgomery typically has the highest cut off (It's the smallest program) and NH has the lowest (it has over 100 more spots than Montgomery!) That's a good score. The Spring application tends to be more competitive bc of how few spots are available.

I believe the tie-breakers are actually A&P Hesi score, followed by math, and then a few other things. Of course, those are my two lowest scores. Oh well. Fingers crossed for us all!

I have my bachelors degree too and I couldn't get grants. Only loans if I decided to go that route

I think your score is good! Keep in mind there were only 2 options in the spring. For the fall there are 4

Were you offered the loans through Lone Star or a third party source?

I pay out of pocket. Didn't even look into the loans
